Why should curry (any curry) only be eaten with rice?
I enjoy the odd curry and chips but never on pasta - Why not?

One of life's great mysteries Vera !! Saying that, we visited my sister in law just after Xmas on our way to the ferry and she did us a curry and served it with new potatoes and a selection of veg - seemed a bit weird but tasted absolutely fine and went together really well to my surprise.
Quite enjoy a curry with a naan bread instead of rice sometimes, makes a nice change. |

I dont ever eat curry with rice (sorry), i eat it with jacket potato (if in a hurry), chips, Nann bred, popadoms (sp), plain noodels. Pulses (sp again sorry)like chick peas, or some kind of lentals... Not a fan of rice... |

Mmmmmm curry...
I think its all about the authenticity of the curry - curry with rice/popadoms/naan is what most curry houses what advise... and is what they traditionally eat it with. Equally I wouldn't want to eat a roast dinner with gravy on a bed of pasta...
Incidentally, my brother lives in Japan and has recently bought a rice cooker which he says is just amazing. I think he said that the rice goes fluffy and really light |

Love it with anything ~ although I prefer rice ~ pilau, jeweled, basmati, jasmine.......and Naan bread, of course, preferably Peshwari!
....then again, the common streak in me likes it with chips, pasta, baked spuds....anything! |

Oh Kash, I have to keep OH away from here. He is fanatical about light fluffy rice (enter Uncle Ben's) I have tried everything but nothing is good enough. He has been nagging to get a rice steamer...........
I love my curry with boiled rice/jacket potatoe and salad and occasionally on the rice with a few chips on top |

It's the curry that's important. I like it with lots of fruit, and I love the coconutty ones, with fragrant rice with lots of cloves and cardomon seeds in. Love naan too - is peshwari the kind with raisins in? I love that.
In the old, poorer days, my sister and I used to be able to make a mean curry out of mince which was cheap... The secret was plenty of sultanas! |
