i watched most of it last night on veal and tonight is lamb. i am mostly a vegetarian. i eat fish if i am feeling a bit run down or if we go out. i found it upsetting but thought provoking and educational. I shall try and watch tonights programme. I definitely didn't enjoy the programme.
lambs 26 days old - no sorry its wrong. some of the lambs were older and that didn't make me feel great but it was a little more acceptable. oh and why didn't the electric stunner thingy work and then they resorted to the firing pin. i didn't like all the thrashing about even though their brains were dead. same thing with chickens i don't like the thrashing about thing at all. omg now speechless thinking about that
I saw the piglets and some of the goat program. I cannot for one minute believe they stick so religiously to that regime when the cameras aren't there. A friend of mine knows someone who worked in an abattoir and he said the majority don't give that amount of consideration.Having had a pony put down by the shooting method I was so upset to see the muscular reaction....the thought of my old boy going through that was awful. Also, how do they know when the animal is stunned enough to nolonger feel pain? Have they tried it? The pig farmer who thought about keeping hers as pets says it all.
Iam a veggie and I watched this as well. I too do not beleive that this is all stuck to when the cameras are not there, I have seen the undercover programs filmed in the UK and beleive me the people working in these slaughter houses had no respect for the animals at all! They certinly where not handled like on the that program. I always wonder how much they feel or sense after they are stunned, I think it is you hearing that is the last sense to go, correct me if I am wrong.
I for one want no part in the meat trade and I am trying to eliminate all animal products from my diet which I find hard with milk (but the one i want to give up the most)any tips vegans. Iam trying to grow my own veg as well as I hate all the chemicals we use as a nation.
I would like to say that I thought the program is good to highlight the issues and let people make a decision on what they saw
Gentle, I have recently cut out milk completely and I use oatly which is made from oats its really good for making porridge with and it's good for you.
