I have really bad flu, it is sitting on my chest and making me feel terrible I hate having flu, but it's even worse having it out here because you feel like you want to wrap up warm with lots of snug clothes and a blanket and a hot water bottle, but it's boiling hot outside!!! Urgh

I would start on the whiskey, but I also seem to have some sort of stomach bug at the same time and it's not liking alcohol! :( |

Thanks - I went to see the doctor today as I felt even worse and couldn't make it into work. He said that this really bad flu is going round, I have a chest infection, throat infection and conjuctivitus!!! I got about six different types of medicine - what a great start to the year - I dont think!!! |

Me too Zoe - struck down by the sickness bug. Didn't know one could be sick so many times.Told it only lasts for 48hours though unlike the dreaded flu. |

I managed to go 10 months without a cold which is a miracle seeing as im a home care assistant ,i have a flu jab every year because colds/flu go straight to my chest !Over Xmas loads of my clients were ill & a week ago i started feeling like i was going to get a cold, sore throat & sneezing, but its not just a cold, i ache ,im wheezing i have a terrible cough & yesterday morning my cup of tea tasted like washing up water ( always a bad sign) So haven`t been able to work this week , it must be a strain of flu that the vaccination doesn`t cover ! |

Oh no, I hope everyone who's feeling ill is feeling better soon! I am feeling slightly better, totally bored being stuck at home all day, only just got the internet working again after two days of it not working too! Going back to work tomorrow and I'm actually glad about that! |

ok so I'm getting very annoyed now as my flu is still bad :( I've spent most of the weekend doing nothing and my cough just seems to be getting worse and now my right ear is completely blocked as well - I just want it to go away as I'm going on vacation in less than two weeks and I really don't want to be ill then, especially as I am going to Canada and it's going to be very cold!!! |

Well believe it or not my flu still seems to be hanging around!, I don't feel as bad as I did and have been managing to go to work (got so much to do before I go on holiday on Friday that I couldn't take any time off anyway!!!), but the nasty cough I have refuses to get any better. I've tried three different lots of cough medicine here and nothing seems to work.
I remember when I was in the UK and I had bad coughs I would always take Galloways cough syrup and it ALWAYS got rid of nasty dry tickly coughs which is what I have now - unfortunately they don't sell that here :-( |
