Hi saddlebred, I'm new to this, normally just a browser but was excited when I saw your post. I own Eklipse, so was curious as to what the question was that prompted your answer. Its lovely to see a picture of him as a yearling - the first I've seen and I've searched everywhere! Any info about his history would be great |

Hi Eklipse How lovely to find his owner! I will try to post a better picture for you. I found it in a BPS magazine because another member asked for it.
I think it was Sue (Rozy Rider) so I guess she must know someone who has a relative.... or it might be that there is another Eklipse that she was looking for.
Anyway, welcome to AL. I have a relative of Eklipse and so do lots of other people on here. My youngster Jazz (Springtimer Fabulous) is by Shulay Faberge who was by Eldyr.
I know the current British National Champion Jacala Morning Gold is also by Eldyr so you are in good company!
What do you do with Eklipse? and have you got any more recent photos? Best wishes Debs

How exciting! I've been reading AL for ages and its so nice that someone is interested in my boy! I met Eldyr at Malvern a couple of years ago which was lovely, he has exactly the same neigh as Eklipse which was funny
We do a bit of everything with, from what I know of his history he was shown as a youngster (as your pic shows), then didn't do much at all for quite a few years though he was gelded around age 4/5. I've had him since he was 9 and he was a late starter in his ridden life. We do XC, which he loves, SJ, which is OK provided there aren't too many horse-eating fillers! Hunting, one day events, some ridden showing, and in April this year we started dressage which he is a superstar at! He is the sweetest 'person' to have around and such a character which always makes me smile. Plus he's gorgeous though he certainly knows it!
Hoepfully these pics will work....

Eklipse was owned by Pauline Gribben & Alison Bayley of the Shulay stud, they had him from his breeder who was also fairly local. He was then sold to the lady I bought him from, she broke him to saddle but then didn't do much with him so he lived a lazy life for a few years. I've had him for around 5 years now and the progress he's made is unbelievable, everything I've asked of him he's done :-)
Having said that I've just come to the difficult decision that I have to sell him, though its going to break my heart! I want to do more eventing, and unfortunately I don't have the time or money to keep 2... (he is on sale pages so not advertising). I really want to find him someone that understands him and loves him as much as me....I hope I can as he's the most lovely boy and I feel I owe it to him. |
