Does anyone know how the pure bred mare Princess Carmella is bred? Think she is Crabbet. Thanks in advance!

Hi, she is approx. 75%+ Crabbet. She has also Old English and Egyptian bloodlines. Can check the percentage exactly if you want?

Thanks Bia, that was quick ! Here is a photo of the mare, my friend is in the process of buying the foal, (now eighteen months old) and can't wait until the passport comes to find out who the sire and dam of the mare are. We just can't contain ourselves, it is so exciting!
It is good to know the Crabbet side is 75%+, thank you very much. |

Well, maybe I should have said that I just took a quick look at her pedigree and then I thought it must be "approx" 75%+. It can be more (I do think so).. but it can also be under 75%!
I'll check it properly and get back to you. Here is her pedigree: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/princess+carmella
She looks lovely and the foal too!

Pheeew... I'm very glad, no shame on me!!
She is 77,51% Crabbet (77,50549), so I was near with my guess yesterday! Her damline is Rose Of Sharon to Rodania Or.Ar. and the strain is Kuhaylah Ajuz (of Ibn Rodan). Sheykh Obeyd - Crabbet. http://www.arieana.com/nbrose3.html#sharon
Who is the foals sire?

Ooh.. many thanks Monique!
I had in mind to write about him because I was fascinated that he is so close up in the pedigree.. but I forgot to do it!! He was a very handsome stallion and 21,87%+ Crabbet!!!

Thank you so much for all the info. My friend has split loyalties between Arabs and Appaloosas, so the filly (Anuri) is a real find. She is by a reg. Appaloosa stallion called Corae Weyekin and Carmella had another filly by him this year. Carmella is on an Appaloosa stud now so I guess it's spotted foals for her from now on, unless her owner can be persuaded otherwise that is! |

OMG.. my thinking was right about the foal, I did thought it looked like a 'arabalossa'.. or what it's called! My friend also had a gorgeous colt.. Appaloosa x Arab who was almost sold before he was dry after being born!!
Please keep us updated with pictures of the foals!
