Thank you all...very very much...When I saw Rushan for the very first time at the '97 British Nationals my first thought was "This is the perfect mate for Sharazada"...never dreaming that within 6 months he would be at home with me in California. Antham is beyond imagining in terms of beauty but even more so in sweetness. Despite no up close relationship he is incredibly like Carmargue in terms of beauty and sweetness. I never thought I'd say that a horse was 'pure love' after Cam, but Antham is.
Thank you Lynda.
Helen,
Who is El Carmaal's sire? Crysilla was one of the most extraordinary mares I've ever known... |

His sire is Carmargue I would love to know more about Crysilla. What was so extraordinary about her? |

Hi Gari,
What lovely, lovely photos - you must feel truly blessed
You must also be very very proud of your breeding programme that has produced such a beautiful and correct horse.
lots of love and the very best wishes for Antham's future in the showring as well as under saddle and in the breeding barn
Lynda,
Thanks so much for posting these wonderful pics - they brightened my day

Hi Helen,
I think beyond any shadow of a doubt that Crysilla was the most beautiful El Shaklan daughter I ever saw anywhere. Would love to see pictures of your girl. Were I to pick a magic pedigree-pre Antham-it would be your El Carmaal. You are blessed!
Anne,
Antham is a lesson-just as *Carmargue was....that is-listen to your heart. All the knowledge in the world...is never as good as listening to what is coming from the very depth of your being. When I saw Rushan the first time...the gooseflesh wouldn't quit.
FYI I am doing an article on a handful of British breeders but as a whole-nothing has given me the gooseflesh as the horses I've found here in the UK. Hopefully I can get it across to the American readers that if they want real greatness in their programs, they are going to start looking at what you folks are doing over here. UK breeding programs go beyond dumb luck...there are things that are so much a part of the UK breeder's psyches that go way back-a tradition of breeding that reflects in today's Arabian. It is absolutely certain without you folks, the Blunts, Lady W...there would be no Padron's Psyche, QR Marc, El Shaklan, Ansata Ibn Halima, Menes, or an Antham for that matter. |

Hi Egbert/Gari Unfortunately El Carmaal is a gelding. He had just been cut when I bought him as a four year. He had sired two offspring, one, a filly out of a thoroughbred mare and a colt who sadly died as youngster. El Carmaal is very precious to me, he is a real character and very intelligent with a beautiful face. He is rather scruffy though compared to your beautiful Antham There is a picture of him doing what he loves best on the all breeds pedigree website. Please tell me more about Crysilla, did you get a chance to know her personally? I would love to know what kind of 'people' her and Carmargue were |

Huge loss, in my estimation. Helen, you've probably seen the articles about Carmargue that are found on Arabian Lines. Crysilla was at least 15h 3", incredibly beautiful and correct-chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail, smooth bodied. She was regal but kind, willing to do whatever asked of her. She was the kind of mare that you could ride to hounds in the morning and take to a show in the afternoon, win in hand and then in performance. If asked to charge a noisy, smoke belching train-her attitude would be, "Would love to do it as long as we can do it together!" Sort of typical of her Hamdani Simri strain. A real companion horse that adored her human family.
Am curious, can you folks see this-it is supposed to be the Antham video on u-tube...My computer can't play it...
