Our anglo is in a happy mouth full cheek snaffle, in the ring next yr what bit will be best as in pelham/double?, this horse is not at all strong and a very easy uncomplicated ride
We have always ridden a novice with a French Link Loose Ring snaffle, and then progressed to a pelham, but I am talking about pure breds here. As Arabs have slightly thicker tongues than other horses, we feel a double is a real 'mouthful'! We have now introduced the Myler bits to the horses and have a Myler pelham..really like the Mylers, as do the horses.
Would try both and see which your Anglo goes best in. There are some places that will loan out bits for you try before you buy, so that might be the answer instead of buying one and finding that it doesn't suit your horse.
