I have recently bought a mare by this stallion, and would like to know more about him.
I have looked on All Breed Database to find his progeny, and recognise a few names, but would like to know more about the UK bred 'babies'. Do any of you own any, or any 'grandchildren'? If so some pics would be lovely!
Thanks
Kate

Yep, I was going to mention Mahaala too. He is a lovely boy
He belongs to Karen Whittard, a good friend of mine at Woodbank Arabians.
Well worth looking up, Karen has two foals by him this year, one is definately for sale |

If memory serves I think Dot Brandie had a colt by him when he was at Delyths. If its the one I'm thinking of he was stunning. He'd be about 6 now. |

Wow - congrats on your purchase you should be feeling pretty damn smug about getting her !! Not only because she's by Salaam but out of my beautiful Natalia too. I'm sure you know Gil is one of only 2 daughters she ever had !! Well I'm learning I didn't know you had Saamantha Sally - how's she turned out ? She was a lovely foal. That'll be an interesting cross. I didn't have Dot's colt at stud Pat so I'm digging deep in my head as to which colt it would be ??? Did you see him on the stud vist ?? Djewel has a gorgeous foal this year so she's definately breeding on. Thankyou Lindsay about Taaqib and Passionaata I'm just thrilled with the job these two Salaam daughters have done for me. Now I'm just hunting for their next hubby !! Both have produced exceptionally typey babies with so much attitude ( from Salaam !!)
There were many stories thrown around when Salaam came over here - he didn't produce, he was vicious, he was a pony - all of which were complete dogs dangleys He will always be the one that got away for me I simply adored him and should have put my hand in my pocket and bought him. Sadly I was trying to do that last summer when they discovered he had a tumour and he was finely put to sleep on boxing day last year. A horse with a tremendous heart and such vigour for life he'll always have a special place here - especially with his look alike daughter Passionaate. I'm also thrilled to have access to his lookalike son Pashaan too. He's turning into a tremendous young stallion.
So huge congratulations to you - Nick and Mair must've had a hard time making that descision - so well done at being in the right place at the right time !!

Hi Kate, Del is right it was a hard decision made easier by the fact you have given Gil a Fantastic home, only a few miles away great friends and BBA`S photographer The Major setback with breeding is parting with your babies, real tough one that,But how would any one start without buying off a breeder the breed would not go forward, We are looking forward to the day you breed with Gil and wonder who your choice would be, WN Natalia changed our outlook and our lives with Arabians,Gil Johara will do the same for you Nick BBA |

I visited Dot a couple of times when I was up in Aberdeen. She had just started with an interest in blacks, but I am sure she had a grey colt by Salaam, would have been a young foal. |

Delyth - it was a bit more than being in the right place at the right time, more like constant nagging for 4 years! I am aware that Natalia only had two daughters. Do you know the whereabouts of Affire?
Nick - thank you (again!!!) for letting me buy Gil. Her beauty leaves me breathless each and every time I look at her. I am also looking forward to breeding with her, be a little while yet - saving my pennies!

Hi Pat - yes Dot did have a grey colt. he turned out nice then ? I've never seen anything of him but she kept him entire i think so thats encouraging !! Kate Women have a built in ability to nag so I'm pleased you used to your advantage Affaire was with Nikki Haworth but then I noticed her shown at Cheshire County ( I think ) under someone elses name so she must've moved home. If anyone does know her whereabouts I'd really love to know how she's doing Again congrats Kate and I hope you are all getting your heads together and deciding her husband - maybe QR Marc - ha ha |

Hi Delyth - I don't have any pictures that do Saamantha justice, but she is gorgeous. We tried using AI with her but she didn't take was not happy with all the messing about so after 3 attempts we decided to go natural! Hopefully I will be able to put some pictures on my website soon! Sally x |

Hi,
My mare had a colt by Salaam in 2002, Spaartan. I would love to see how he looks. Does anyone know him or have a picture? I only have a pic Delyth sent me of him at foot. Like you all say Salaam was so stunning I am curious to see how the cross of Polianka x Salaam turned out! Such a pity Salaam is no longer with us

I think, if I remember rightly, Affaire was with Lewmack Arabians (Mac & Christine) after leaving Nikki Haworth. Not sure if they still have her or how many foals they bred from her. |
