i'm getting a bit.......... i don't know really. keep thinking he'll fail the vetting. buy why would he when he got thru 2 vet gates at Thetford Forest. He has got a bit of a "hocky" dragging toe every now and then but only in walk. and look at all the trotting we did not a lame stride in site - well i certainly didn't feel it and my friend didn't see one and she was following in the car. perhaps i'm just getting nervy. roll on Thursday. |

Hi - I have just registered onto this site because I have been following this thread right through and it has scared me to death because I am going down next week to see two arabs (never owned one before)as I'm looking for a new horse (not selling my boy though!) and I can't bear the thought of going through what you are going through Pixie!! Just like you I'm looking for a horse I will keep and I'm not going to rush into anything. Trouble is that the mare I'm going to look at and also a four year old sound absolutely brilliant ad I just hope!! they are as good as they sound. Reading this thread though I know I've got to stay realistic Anyway just wanted to wish you luck - you definitely deserve this ine to be THE one. Cheers

keep calm Pixie Im sure he will be fine - hes in work so anything subtle is likely to have shown up by now especially with doing endurance which as we all know is sometimes pretty hard on horses. he really does sound worth waiting for! |

Well Ros, although we all are DELIGHTED that Pixie has nearly bought her dream horse, perhaps you could pick up the baton as it were and give us your horse buying stories because I think I will miss Pixie's... |

Well hopefully (fingers tightly crossed) I won't be able to keep you too interested!!because when I go nearly 250 miles!!!to see one horse and then another 150 to see another then they will be as great as I hope I know - don't say it ...mad as a hatter! Ros |

Oh i hope you are right Arachnid and i do buy him and that all goes well on Thursday.......
And Yes Moosie i think you are right.
I have to say though if he wasn't fit I may have well walked away because of the "hockeyness" no such word i know but you all know what i mean.
And Ros good luck in your search. The guys on here have really helped me and been supportive and its really been an outlet to let off steam when its not been going well.
Some of the people that i have come across should really have known better. Shame on them. And i truly feel for those horses.
My friend who comes along with me as "fall guy jockey" said - to the lady selling the horse i hope to buy - that she wishes she had my knowledge of schooling. And i wish i could ride like her. I was praise indeed from a really hot little rider. I am lucky to have such good friends.
I am waffling on now - its a symptom of the nerves i think.

Good luck Pixie!! I had a filly by Khairoun. She was a very nice tough little individual, with a very trainable attitude. She's doing advanced endurance now. Hope yours proves to be all you want. I'm sure he'll sail through the vet so don't worry. |

Wow Pixie, is it a Khairoun offspring?? Very tough line - brill sire too, a very 'doing' type of horse!!!
We had a Khairoun Anglo daughter at livery for a while. She was MEGA tough but very trainable (with kindness and 'affinity') - also a bit aloof and occasionally bolshy, but I put that down to the 'very cautious' and un-demanding (subservient) owner, if you know what I mean?!? To sum her up - she was a very easy mare with a bit of 'attitude' - so perfect IMHO!!!
Hope this helps because he sounds very promising to me, just hope your lovely vet passes him!!!

now only one more sleep. can't bear it. I've been having some strangee olde dreams. clearly something is playing on my mind. mmmmmm wonder what that could be.
between 2 and 3 tomorrow - keep everything crossed and offer up little prayer which needs to be uttered to the "Vetting God of Sound Horses that are Fit to do the Job for which they are Purchased" |

Just seen this thread - good luck for tomorrow and hoping he turns out to be your "second" dream horse !! Looks ain't everything Pixie, never judge a book by the cover and all that, much better that he's a nice "person" to be around.
Cheri Bibi did well on the race track I think - maybe one of the racing bods will be able to expand on that. |
