oh the lady selling him was really nice. she could have quite easily tried to get us in a bit of a bidding war. she was very nice. if his times/heart rate are not good enough for the lady in Scotland she did say she'd call me back. but i'm not holding my breath. hey ho. still think my next horse will find me. i know thats a bit airy fairey thinking.......... |

I know just how you feel Pixie. I am looking for something for my son and have wasted so much time looking at unsuitable horses. Last week we went to look at a mare who was just what he wanted, he brought her in from the field and she had only 1 shoe on - being a kind, sensible lad he declined to ride her as she was unlevel and not happy. We arranged to go back Sat to ride after the farrier had been. The owner rang to say she really hoped we would have the mare as she really liked us and the mare appeared to like my son etc. Sat - phone call to say farrier hadn't turned up so we arranged to go in the week. Again had the "I do hope you have her, you seem perfect for her" etc. Assured her that so long as the mare was OK under saddle it was a done deal. Mon at 08.45 got a text saying she had found her a home!!! What a waste of time Back to searching for the elusive one Good luck in your search!! |

Wellllllll Anyway - the lady from Scotland changed her mind the following morning and so i went to see him today. Blowing a gale - omg nearly got blown away. what a little sweetie. The Endurance ride is Thetford Forest this Sunday evidently and we await his results. I am going back to hack him next Wednesday.
Ssssshhhhh but i do feel really excited now. Sometimes when its right its right.
I do have one other iron in the fire......... but am really hoping this one comes off.
Don't want to say too much too soon. watch this space. yeeee haa |

Doh! I've ASSUMED wrong then! I'd figured out that given all "the clues".....that it had to be "Rabih" on the AL geldings page! Still wishing you luck Pixie, with "whoever" it is???? J |

Pixie, IMO and sorry if I offend anyone, show horses are superficial if that's all they do. The most important thing is that you are happy with him, and he is happy with you!!! I bet he is adorable!!!

don't go back 'til next wednesday as he is doing Endurance Ride in Thetford Forest this weekend. didn't want to go back and muck up the lady's training routine and then obviously can't go back over the weekend. and then obviously can't ride monday or tues as recovering from the weekend. so Wednesday 19th is when i'm going back. Patience Kirsty....... i'm a bit twitchy. i've never been this twitchy before. today had to stop myself sorting out what spare rugs i've got. i caught myself on and slammed the lid shut of the trunk and told myself to calm down. I've got to hack him yet. Then have him vetted. Calm down Pixie - stop being ridiculous. lol But thanks everyone for caring. |

ok came in and finished grade 2..... heart rate at 46. travelled 1.5 hours there. finished ride. stood on box 1 hour while waited for results and packed up. then home journed 1.5 hours. had a drink before they left thetford. ate haynet on way back. was quite happy. got home. had his feed and another haynet. because they were going a little fast - bowling along - they walked the last 15 minutes and were overtaken by lots of race riders but wasn't bothered or strong by being over taken. oh it sounds too good to be true. please keep your fingers crossed everyone. |
