If it's yellow and gunky it's an infection so you will need to get ointment/ drops from the vet or get the vet out to have a look in case there is something else going on----never take risks with eyes. Infections can be wind borne, or carried in by just one insect. Hope it clears up quickly |

try the old tea trick, works wonders, but when friend gets back do call vet cos shouldnt take risks with eyes, f it yellow sticky gunk is probly conjunctivitis quite common this time of year also if tears are running down face then ducks mite be blocked too, if clear and watery could be a pollen reaction (hay fever) had the vet out to my boy few weeks back for same thing he wears mask all the time and that helps,., |

Ditto the cold tea or a saline solution. Trick I learned that if the eye is sore, it can be difficult to do so I tend to tilt the head, soak a sponge in the tea and hold it above the eye so that when you gently squeeze the tea runs over the eye. Hope you soon get it sorted Sandie |

Hi,
If you are pretty sure its nothing to worry about you can buy ointment over the counter at the chemist. Its called Golden Eye and is very effective, apply gently twice a day.
If it looks really bad and you are worried obviously call the vet.
Good Luck

Around here golden eye ointment has been a bit difficult to get hold of but Brolyene is readily available and exactly the same thing. |
