Another update on mares bred to H Tobago:
Two very well known show winners, Fantastika (Kubinec x G Fantastica) and Shangrila (Kais x Shambala) have both recently been scanned in foal to him!
I'm very chuffed cos these are both beautiful mares, and very grateful to their owner Peter Wainwright for choosing Tobago. I think he must have high hopes for these babies, as he has already turned down a breeder who wanted to buy one of them 'in utero'!
I must admit even I didn't expect the Tobagolings to be in demand quite so soon - before they are even born!
Quite exciting - but excitement tinged with anxiety, hoping that all these babies will live up to their breeders' high expectations... |

Thanks Angie! (And thanks again for breeding your lovely girl to my boy - I hope the baby can follow in its Mum's hoofsteps and win at the Nationals for you! )
I think about 19 or 20 - he had over 25 booked, but some have had to postpone till next year due to various problems (late foalings, complications, injuries, owner's illness, flood-disasters, etc. ).
It's been a busy season, and it looks as though next year will be even busier, as his 2008 book is already rapidly filling up.
I'm very grateful to all the breeders who used him in his first season - I hope their confidence will be rewarded with some super babies next year!
Oh - I didn't update on here that at Di Ellis's Marbon Arabians the stunning Russian mare G Forgetmenot, by Top out of For The Moment (by Moment) is also safely in foal to Tobago. I've always admired the Marbon horses, and feel very honoured to have one of them in foal to my boy. (We're hoping this foal will inherit the flying 'Russian Trot' from both parents! )

Wow Kate with TOBAGO lookalike and russian trot that will be a foal n half :) :) :)
We will try our best to do you proud in the ring and hopefully will get the red ribbon but if not this little foal will hopefully not only be a show horse but do dressage and jumping too :)
Il get some ridden practice in on the anglo when im feeling better and if we dont get out anywhere we will aim to do Nationals next yr and the youngstock show and with a bit of luck do you proud
You are very lucky to have such a lovely boy, even the big boys often dont have a season as good as this so must feel so proud, if you get echer next season please let me know as i will want a portfolio of foalie pics :) |

I was hoping to use Mareschal as Anna (Roxaana) has had one by him before who was supposed to be lovely but because she is so late foaling this year I will have to leave it for another year if my OH will let me after this years 'fun'. |
