I use a Garmin nuvi and it has been great, get the best you can afford as some are slow,so you could be going along and it will say turn left after you have gone past the turn, nightmare in a horsebox. The tom toms are good but go for a higher no one,the tom tom 1 seems very slow to me,go to a car shop and ask the people to explain all the things on them. |

I borrowed my sister's Tom Tom and it was absolutely brilliant, navigated me from cornwall to hemel hempstead all round roundabouts, industrial estates and streets where me and my map would have got completely lost!! Did the jpurney in four hours including stopping for fuel too, I would highly recommend the Tom Tom version. |

We have Tom Tom too. Fab. As well as OH using it for work, it has navigated us round Spain and last year when my friend was horse hunting, it took us all over the country including right to the gate of a place in the middle of nowhere in Wales just from the postcode. |

Can I say how much I hate my OH's sat nav? It sometimes speaks to me in German, and designs the most bizarre routes. It once took us through the middle of Barcelona to the airport instead on the ring road (clearly marked on the map)
I am a sat nav and I am crap at what is done much better by a map
(shamelessly plaigerised from the sun dial poem).
