Goldie is still in the hospital after his accident last Sunday. It's not looking good for him. The next couple of days we will know if he is going to lose the blood supply to his front hoof.
Kenneth and I went to see him today and the vet took his bandage off and I was shocked to see how badly hurt he is. He is being so good I can't believe I may lose him.

So sorry to hear of Goldie's problem. I do hope he pulls through. Our Arabs are really tough and do seem to recover when other breeds wouldn't.
We are so lucky here in UK to have so many really good vets and so close that it is never long before we get our vet in an emergency. Mind you, I grit my teeth sometimes (like today) when I leave work early and rush to get my stallion in as he damaged his eye last week and the vet wanted to see it again today. When he didn't turn up I went in the house and there was a message on the answerphone saying he was coming out my way tomorrow morning so if it was OK he would call in at about 11.30am instead. No, it isn't as I will be at work so when I callled him back he said he could make it about 4.45pm so I have to arrange to leave work early again and Farouk hates to come in early when the others are still out.
However, he is a super vet and I know he is very busy and in great demand and I wouldn't change him. I have implicit faith in him and that is very important. Also, he is good with the horses.

Thanks everybody. I've got tears in my eyes reading all the messages. I hope he pulls through I can't think of life without him. He's like one of my kids. I'll keep you all posted. But one thing for sure if he has to be PTS then he'll come home and I'll find a nice spot to bury him. He is a fighter though so I've got everything crossed and praying hard.
