I have a rocking horse - a Stevenson Brothers mahogany one, called Jack, after my late father. I always wanted one (like everyone else here!) and I finally got him two years ago. He's gorgeous and I ride him!
Beats zooming around the garden on my hobby horse, jumping bamboo poles balanced on bricks... I take it EVERYONE on AL did this as a child?!

I had a pink space-hopper (a grey Arab stallion, obviously!!!) who was a terrific jumper when in the mood but had really naughty moments and would buck me off and run away...
I went through a jockey phase and would ride racing finishes on a very high stone wall in the woods with two dog leads as racing stirrups - just as well neither of them broke as there was a fifteen foot drop into the river!
When I got more ambitious I used to try to persuade my parents to buy the full-sized plastic horse in the saddler's window... |

Love the photograph Nikki. We have just come in from an evening dog walk, checking the horses too, my 4 year old daughter made my son and I both play horses with her, holding the pretend reins and cantering along. Those were the days, it is history repeating itself!!! Nicky |

I had "New" mop with a multi coloured mane & he was called champagne, we would run round the yard & gardern off and on all day - one day mums old mop got past its sell by date so champagne was used for his original purpose in life - cleaning floors They were the days |
