Just a reminder in case you missed my last post. This is the subject of our talk on Saturday 31st May.
Lisa, specialist equine vet will be covering the main condtions including SCID, Lavender Foal Syndrome, cerebellar abiotrophy and occupital-atlanto-axial malformation.
If there is time she will also look at tying up and IGM Deficiency, there will also an opportunity to ask questions. It will be a very interesting and educational evening.
There is no charge and non-members of Ridden Arab Group wales are welcome, but we do ask for donations to SPANA. If you want to come or just want more info, please get in touch

Hi Montana, it was a fascinating talk,accompanied by slides and photo's, we covered a lot of ground in an evening. Lisa is an extremely dedicated and talented vet who is passionate about arabs.
We also discussed line breeding and the potential risks, familial rejection and sweet itch.
It gave us a lot of food for thought and an excellent grounding for people who were less familiar with the major and the less well known inherited diseases.
It certainly brought home the potential hazards of breeding within such a small gene pool.
Lisa also brought a video of a foal with cerebellar abiotrophy, I have never knowingly seen a foal with this condition, but seeing it made it so much clearer than reading about it. Mandy |
