Hello there
I know Daphne Cocksedge in South Wales, I bought my filly from her last year, Celtic Maggie May. Her dam is Bint Magnetta and her sire Secret Heart, a lovely grey boy.
Bia, if you are reading this thread I would love to know more about my filly's breeding? She was born on 6th May 2005 (i think) her documents are still at my mums from when we moved house. I would love to know what % of Crabbet she has in her?
Kind regards Liza xx |

Hi Liza,
I'll gladly check her percentage! Might take some time, because I saw that there are some US-bred horses in paternal damside.

Bia, Thank you so much! I have found your posts really interesting and helpful. I didn't realise that her Crabbet % was as much as that. I do intend to breed from Maggie and a Crabbet stallion is my first choice.
Maggie is a lovely filly, very pretty and extremely clever, she opens field gates and stable doors and then ends up at the bottom of our garden waiting for her food!!
Thank you once again.

Hi Bia,& Thanks for the ilderim link, enjoyed the trip. Maggie has at least three Welsh links in her pedigree,GG Jabask, Sollum & Secret Partner, still not sure where Secret Partner was bred, but, Daphne Cocksedge did have Sollum on lease way back in 1989... and Maggies dam was bred by Mrs Cocksedge & Mr JP Jones, all very interesting for this thread...........I'm off now to see if Fantastyk is related to Fantastika, through G Fantastica. ( & they are not)....Sue |

Liza,
Thank you for your kind word! I understand that you have great fun with Maggie! My old stallion (deceased) was also very clever and loved to do things before I could blink!
***
Sue,
My pleasure with the Ilderim link! Secret Partner was sold in utero 1981 when his dam was exp from Poland to USA. He is born there 1982. Breeder is Michalow Stud in Poland (don't understand why?). I've filled in some info at allbreed. Hope this help a bit!

Rachel - the only thing I can think of is if you contact the auctioneers & ask them it they have the address of the purchaser/vendor of the mare & ask them if they would forward a letter from you to them? If they will you could send them a letter to forward. Data protection will prevent them from telling you the purchaser.
Not a lot of help - sorry! |

I know that a Mr E jones from dyfed bred her, he kept her for 9 years and put her in llanybydder approx 3 months ago, i bought her from a lady in middlesex who bought her from luton. I just had the dentist out to heather(sophie) my grey arab mare and she needs her teeth drilling (hard to explain)as she has gum disease, thats why she doesnt keep the weight on well, she needs sedating in two weeks in order to do this but my problem is that she has been with my stallion last week and could be in foal. Does anyone know if you can sedate a mare in foal, she would be 16 days in foal when she needs sedating. Rachel |

I think when the arab mares went through Llanybydder sale in the winter time,(Havenbeach goes there) Judith posted the online address for Evans Bros, the Auctuioneers, and the cat was on line.. you might find her in the cat.. Also, the Luton dealer do you know his name.. Just thought of the dealer selling those arabs in the winter time Les Edwards, very nice chap, and helpfull, usually goes to Henley in Arden & Abergavenny. |

Hi there
Regarding TC I will go home this summer and will take lots of photos of him, then will post them when I get back, I will also go through the photo albums tonight to dig some out. Secret Partner went back to his owners a long time ago, we only leased him for a few seasons. I am sure that I have photos of him too.
Will get sorting tonight

Hi, I rang the llanybyddr office and they wont give out any information, wont even write a letter. O well it was worth a try! I have just been sent a pure bred 10 yr old arab to break, chestnut about 14.1h, i will try and find out his name off his owner as he is registered. you never know he might be another one of the misssing ones. Rachel - if you send them a letter asking them to forward it onto the persons involved (inc postage of course!) I would have thought that they could do that?! |

Hi I said that and apparently sellers have asked them in the past not to let the auctioneers do that, so they wont even send a letter.
If anyone is thinking of buying a horse off of horsemart then beware of a miss katie thurston selling horses for stupidly cheap prices and asking for deposits and keeping the deposits, she is doing it to everyone including me but i am getting mine back through courts, she advertises under all sorts of names and different numbers including essex equines and katie thompson and a few other names . she is from essex. so dont be fooled like i was!! |

I hope you get your money back Rachel. Hows your foal coming on? I am not sure about the sedating of a recently pregnant mare - your vet should be able to advise.
Sian - cant wait to see the pictures of Secret Partner - should you find them:-) |

Hi, Trading standards are on to her so hopefully they will stop her. My vet said sedating a pregnant mare is ok in early pregnancy and even if it wasnt her teeth are more important and the foal is only going to be 16 days old, thats even if she is in foal as she might not have concieved.Shesdue into season the week after her sedation so we will soon see. Heathers foal is so sweet, she has her mums temprament, we have called her sophie!! |

I can scan the pic and email it to someone to post. Has someone got a direct decendant? if so would gladly post them the actual page. Its just a stud advert though not an article.
the book I got was January 1985 book 1 - bru bet seradro in book 2! But he is also in December 1984 if anyone can track one. |
