This is probable the lady who was in Chepstow in the 1970ies and had Attallah(1971).
I also, remember several arab younsters sold at Malvern in the late 1990ies, many went for £60, and one lady bought up a load, those that went for £60 ended up with a dealer from B'hill and after the girls had their pick the rest went for meat. I lost my mare the same year in October, so I think it was the September sale. I rang the dealer to see what he'd got left, but, he'd sent the remaining for the killing, possible went to Turners at Crew. someone will have the cat for this sale and others will remember this....

Hi All
All of the pics I have seen of the horses we have of Pegi's show that they are very similar i.e. all US type conformation. There are some lady's that showed at Caerwys show a couple of years ago that had 2 black arabs that looked the spitting image of Basky, but I didnt have the nerve to ask what breeding they were. Looking back I should have done. I will go along (Its early June) and have a look. I usually go to the big qualifying shows - its worth having a look at the entries list to see if any of them are Jabask horses.
Can I email someone a Pic of basky to put on here? |

Hi, I have just spoken to Mollie, and the Malvern Sale where a lot went for meat was in September 1998. My grey was there as a yearling, and luckily Mollie purchased her back for Pegi otherwise she would be no more I guess! Mollie was probably the woman that purchase a load - as she was there intentionally buying back what she could. The sale was supposed to be appalling, a lot of people withdrew the horses as there was no one but the meat men buying, but because it was the banks selling Pegi's horses they didn't care and no one withdrew them! Poor sods. Apparently my chestnut was born 9.5.1997 and was called 'Crystal Leda' - but unfortuanately never registered and no covering certificates - but Mollie owned both the dam and the stallion 'Bru-Bet Seradro' and is willing to try and help me get her registered, so fingers crossed and the AHS willing. The chestnut is image of her mum 'Diamond Leda' apparently. Moldequine - I asked Mollie about 'Sophie' and she says she owned her for a few years along with her dam 'MC Natalie'. Whilst Sohpie was with her, she thinks she had two foals. She has kept lots of the paper work so she will be able to look up the information and tell you more! She is expecting you call |

Can I be really cheeky....I mentioned in a listing a couple of pages ago that I was trying to get hold of a 1984 edition of Arabian Horse Magazine because it had a picture of Bru-bet Seradro in it. I have been offered a magazine for £60!!!!! Could someone possibly ask Mollie if she has any pictures of him.
Its really nice to know that Basky has at the very least 3 half sisters out there!!!! |

Ref. to Malvern above, those I saw sold all made the £50 minimum bid and many went to £60..those that Gerry & Brian bought, they split the lot, were all sold for £60. these are the one that went on the meat..
Well in the 1985 year round it list photo's for all horses displayed for the year and gives the Arabian Horse World mag they are in...Its says that both Bru-Bet Seradro & Bo Bit Obask have pic's in January 1985. have not managed to locate this/these mags yet, but here is one of the places they might come up for sale. Hi there
There seems to be a misunderstaning in the information that you all got from Mollie. The Sale that was held in Malvern was a Brightwells Sale. Pegi took horses down to be sold then as there was over a 110 heads at Gellidara Arabians and you all know the cost of keeping horses!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They all went with Passport and others with their certificates so all horses from that sale had all paperwork. We know where all of those horses went - thats not the problem. The problem is after 2000 when her son with the help of Mollie got rid of the rest of the horses in a dreadfull state and condition. They were sent to a dealer apparently on Anglsey without any paperwork. All of Pegis best mares and all of the youngstock was moved to a good friend of hers. When they arrived there - after they were delivered by her son (we have photos) they were in awful condition and she kept them all paired their feet and got fabulous condition on them all. When Pegis son called her up to say that all was ok and that he was ready to take them back, he took them and starved them again. Then they went from pillar to post.
It is an utter discrase that this happend, and I tell you know if Pegi knew this - it would never have happend.
Goes to show that you cant even trust those closest to you !!!!

Hi Sian,
I have just remember seeing a very nice Bay Arabian Stallion (without papers) for sale last summer at Beeston Horse Sales. It was a blonde haired dealer selling him, which is how John Savage described the farmer/dealer from Anglesea. Is he likely to have been one of yours. He didn't sell, no one bid on him. They said he was about 15 years old. Are any of your bay stallions still on the missing list - I see you had these three at one time, all roughly about the right age.
JABASK SADREEN 1992 Stallion Bay JABASK MARHARA 1993 Stallion Bay JABASK AZZEME 1995 Stallion Bay
The stallion was very well behaved considering the surroundings (and looked well looked after).
I see you say, Pegi has taken 8 horses out to Saudi with her - which ones has she with her?
Kind regards Clare

I'm going to Beeston tomorrow. I don't know who any of these people are but I'm quite happy to ask around if I have some descriptions. This Keith guy - is he tall/short, slim/fat, old/young??? And I will of course look out for any jabask looking arabs ..... but deliberately not taking the box as two is enough!!! |

Hi there
Jabask Sadreen came out to the middle east - the others Jabask Marhara and Jabask Azzeme I have no idea where they are now - if someone can find out the sire and dam of those two I might be able to say where I remeber them last. I do hope that you will be able to get some info from this Keith Jones - ask him about Tomas Jones (thats the son of Pegi) to see what he will have to say then send me an e-mail to let me know how it goes.

Hi Moldequine (are you Rachel?) You will have to go down the same route as me then - Ring the AHS and ask for a late registration form? You will have to fill in what you can and then get the dam's and sire's owner(s) to fill in the rest. As Mollie owned the dam of my chestnut and Bru-bet Seradro at one time (not sure if it was at the time of covering) then it should be easy enough. You need to find out who owned the dam and sire of your mare at the time of conception. Hope this helps Clare

Had a good look at Beeston but hardly any horses there considering it is easter hols. No breeders with blonde hair i'm affraid!
My other horse is an arab of unkown origin!!!!! Definately not a Jabask horse though. She's 27 now and came through Beeston around 1988 - think that one is a lost cause. |
