Too fat - I bounced! The Labs got highly excited though!!! Its a beautiful day here today....don't think its going to last - rain forecast for tomorrow. The rock is a large lump in out top field - a nice place to sit & watch the world go by - without the doggies! |

Gorgeous dogs what breed is number 6?
Been meaning to ask you, how is Sly doing? (My little part bred was his half sister). |

Kash - Sly is really well & as delicious as ever - but moulting well at the moment!
Dogs L to R: Alfie - hes 10 - 3/4 Border Collie/1/4 English Setter - still refered to as a "puppy" !! Thankfully more sensible than his mum!; Hollie - shes Alfies mother - shes now 12 - 1/2 Border Collie, 1/2 English Setter........ always been as mad as a hatter but delightful - shes 12 going on 5 - still VERY active & has all her marbles - still runs like a lunatic round & round the outside of the house barking madly because she can't catch up with herself!!!; Bella - 6 year old Black Lab - a most wonderful dog with an amazing personality & also VERY willful but totally lovable! Shes the only dog on my signature!; Billy (William) - hes 3 1/2 - son of Bella - pure bred Lab - very intelligent, tough, wiry boy - always on the go - never tires & he's always carrying something - stick, rock or whatever!; Buster - Billys litter brother - but hes HUGH - he towers above his mum - whos a big girl for a Lab & also makes his brother look tiny! Hes SO soft & would be the perfect PAT dog - totally different from his brother - doesn't do hard work!!
The missing dog is Miss Piggy (yes - strange name I know!) - shes full sister to Alfie - but looks like a very hairy round black/brown bear!!! |

Judith fantastic pictures. One of those moments usually when there is never a camera around, only this time your OH was prepared. Don't you live in just an amazing place. The countryside around you is fabulous. You are so lucky. Nicky |

Hi Judith, you must be very brave to have anything to do with English Setters!! We have 7 of the lunatics, but I would not change them for anything!!! They are the most gentle dogs with children and, as we foster temperament is all important.

Hi Judith at least you should have SOME obedience with the colli influence. Ours all suffer from selective deafness and even our oldest (11 now) still cannot be trusted to behave himself - he still behaves like a puppy - chews furniture, shoes, BOOKS, runs off, tears through the house like a lunatic etc. You have our sympathy Best wishes Gabriele |

Hollies Setter mother apparently pinched a beef casserole........but she ate the pyrex dish as well - with no ill effects |

With regard to English Setters eating beef casserole etc - a friend of ours was preparing Christnas dinner, the only problem was that one of her English Setter's managed to open the oven door, pull the turkey out and ate it!!!! They had a vergetarian Christmas - true story!!!!! Gabriele
