My friend Donna is staying with us this weekend - she owns my Saddlebred full brother -but came to stay this weekend without him - so she rode my Saddlebred Amigo out today - shes on the right - I'm the yellow person on the left on Rowan one of my lovely Arabs. We were out for several hours - had a great ride! tomorrow we will venture out again onto the wild hills!

You are so lucky to live in such a wonderful place Judith. I hacked Han through the bridle tracks to the nasty wizzy lane today. We watched the cars wizz by. Really not looking forward to roadwork but it's a neccessary evil to get to the common and beyond. |

WOW Judith, I'm so jealous....of where you live, of your riding, of your horses, of your friend!!
She certainly picked a good weekend to come and visit!!
Hope you have a really good ride tomorrow. I'm taking my new boy for a gallop along the toll rides; I'll have to hack 2 miles to get there but it will be worth it as he is feeling rather full of himself at the moment!! |

Hi Sarah - how did you ride go today - hope you had a great time! Susan - visitors welcome! Jen - thanks!
Here one of us setting out this morning - my friend Donna rode Rowan - her first ride ever on a purebred Arab & she loved him - mind you he's such a good boy! I rode Amigo - we were going to go onto the hills but is SO terrifically windy here we stayed at a lower level! It was to have been Amigos fist proper ride onto the hills - as good has he is the wind might have been a bit much - that & all the wide open space!
When we got back Donna rode him in the fields.........she is rather fancying him to show Saddle-Seat next season!!! She owns Reiver his full brother (a year younger) & is doing ever so well in the show ring with him.

Hi Jo
How long now till you are back for a visit? Bet you can't wait to see your girly again!
Donna was amazed as to how powerful Rowan is going up hills - hes got an amazing rear engine! Seems ages ago now that you were here & rode him!

Jo - hope your journey goes well & that you have a FAB time while back in the UK - lots of lovely rides on Tara!
Sarah - sounds like you had a rather good time!
We had a sedate ride today - Amigo isn't fit! Donna is an excellent rider & she had fun riding him when we got back - one of our fields is large & reasonably level (for round here!!) - so she did circles etc & then had a nice couple of steady canters - Amigo is very much the rocking-horse in canter! I really enjoyed seeing him being ridden! |
