I have just read the January E-News from the British Horse Society which says:-
"As of 1 February Defra state that passport silhouettes must be filled in and signed by a vet ('flu vacs. are allowed to be sent in), or by the owner providing the horse is micro-chipped".
So, if you haven't already sorted out your passports and don't want the added expense of getting a vet involved - time is running out!
It seems that everthing is done to make life just a bit more exspensive...........really getting silly now. My vet is useless at drawing the horse details, he is half blind and misses whorls, I have always done them myself.
I hate to think of the costs for a very big stud, makes me shudder.
Don't get me started on this one...... the only passport I don't have is for my 24 year old, so if the AHS don't get around to doing this passport in the next week, I have to get a vet out especially to do a passport piccie for her????? I DON'T THINK SO. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I was also wondering who was going to pay the extra cost - does it count that the AHS cashed my check in October and I still haven't heard a word as to where my passport might be. I think I might be getting a bit snippy if I end up having to pay a vet to fill in a form after I got the application in in what seemed like plenty of time!
I am also still awaiting the arrival of passports sent to AHS in October - cheque cashed but no sign of passports yet!!!!!! Surely if they have cashed cheque they will not expect us to have to complete more forms just because they can't issue passports within four months of receiving forms!!!
