Kasmara had her foal (finally!) this morning (7 am) and it's a very big filly - we're so pleased as it is the first foal we've ever bred and she's beautiful.
She has her dad's curly ears and extremely long legs so hopefully she should stay tall as both parents are a good size. She's liver chestnut with a thin white stripe on her head which grows into a almond shaped star.
She has hardly stopped suckling since she first got the taste of the milk (only to have a quick nap!)
Kas is very proud but will still let baby give you a kiss!
Ooohh we're on cloud 9!!

Wonderful. Must be great to have little bundles of fluff everywhere. Would love to put my mare in foal but i dont think she would take to motherhood very well

Hi Sal
Another Spoc filly! She'll probably look more like our Spoc colt then with the white socks.
Congratulations!!

Thanks again everyone!!!!!
KristiBelle, I must have sent you the wrong video although the bit of Crusader and Mostafa is very short and a real dodgy recording as we had to video the television screen and keep very quiet! Two fantastic stallions - we've had Max (Nevadah) gelded now though so I'm really glad Kas had a filly. We're hoping to sell him as a ridden horse but want him to go to a really good home as he is a terrific boy. Fingers crossed anyway and thanks again.

Hi June - Sorry my mind's not with it - nearly time to go home (I'm at work, naughty me) and all I can think about is seeing the foal again!! Mark's absolutely over the moon - he can't stop himself from going in with then and kneeling down looking at her all the time!
Speak to you soon - how are your horses (when's Sabrina due?)

Dear Claire and Mark
So pleased to hear about your filly, congratulations.
I am sorry I didn't see your post before but I sadly lost Lanta and have been in tears most of the time and just haven't been on line lately.
It is so exciting to have your foal, can't wait to hear that Marih has had hers, I hope she produces a champion for you.
I will be in touch soon. Are you going to the el-amin evening at the Lowe's, if so I will see you there.
Regards
Barbar
PS What do you call your baby? |

Hi Barbara
Thank you for your kind words. We are very sorry to hear about your loss - I was keeping my fingers crossed that he would pull through. I hope you are feeling better - it must be awful for you.
I also haven't been able to email as my email is down at the moment (again).
We are calling the baby "Nevi" for short and hope to be able to register her as Neviyah (as in Nevadah) or something similar depending on what the AHS says is available.
Marih is very big now and has huge bags and we have estimated her to foal in approx 2 weeks so can't wait. I'm going to have to order another foal rug though as the rugs we bought for the foals are huge however I found a rug designed for miniture shetlands, on the internet and ordered one for Kas's baby which is a much better fit.
Marih seems intrigued with the new arrival but probably a little bit jealous too as she has lost her best buddy and has to go in the menage by herself (little does she realise she too will have a little playmate/pest on legs soon too!!)
Mark and I are going to the El Amin evening next week so we will definitely see you there. We should also have some photos of the little terror to show you too!
Take care and see you next week.
Claire and Mark
