I must be going soft, but I thought that although the horse was doing it, it certainly wasn't enjoying it. From a horses point of view, I can see no pleasure in doing that (even though it is brilliant and amazing to watch). See, told you I was going soft (mind you, I've had a few...). |

You are not going soft. I do not like to see horses put through such things.
A well balanced horse that will listen to you yes. BUT not all that. It puts a lot of stress on all the joints.
To me the body language of the grey mare looks as if she is angry with all that tail swishing.
I am not a great lover of Dressage.

Isn't it funny how different people can see different things, to me the mare is enjoying herself and trying really hard to please her rider. No amount of training can bring that, I can't even think of a word, that extra ping to her paces. There is no tension in her back or neck.
I can see what you are saying about the tail swishing but it doesn't look angry to me.
Different people see things with different eyes and wouldn't it be boring if we all saw everything the same way - to me she is poetry in motion, watching her made me smile.

Hi Danni, I'm glad you mentioned that, I've seen some pretty horrific photos and videos of 'certain' dressage riders using Rollkur |
