No but we always had boxers, in fact the two dogs we have now originated from our old boxer although you wouldn't know it to look at them! Not that that is remotely helpful but just wanted to say I love Boxer puppies best of all dogs |

I've had three boxers, and have done both showing and obedience with one of them. The looks I got from the borders and GSD owners had to be seen to be believed.
Are you looking for a bridle or red and white - may be able to point you in the right direction. |

Just seen where you are in the country and there are some big breeders down your way. |

Lynda, you must be one good trainer to have done obedience with yours (or mine is just the biggest clown ever bred, lol).
They are LOVELY puppies, never lose their humour and are very playful and energetic dogs. Shop around for a puppy though and try to see both parents, their are some dreadful ones out there as well as the mega ones.
British bred ones tend to be smaller and chunkier, if you can get one with some American breeding they are taller, leaner and tend to have a longer 'snout' (can live a bit longer and less breathing and drooling problems).
They love company (human and other) and I have had mine for nearly 8 years now and he has made me laugh EVERY single day. They are real 'best mate' material, go for it! |

Thanks Judi. Boxers are the most wonderful characters, never grow up! I was lucky with the one who did obedience - he thought that he was doing it on his own, and we had such fun. I just had to watch him all the time to make sure that he stayed in the ring and didn't bolt for the exit when he wanted too!! |

pref brindle and a boy - As much as i would love to rescue one we need to have a puppy really as we already have a 4 year old rotty and i think he would take to a puppy ok but not so sure about an older one - thanks all for advice - Lynda why shouldnt a boxer do agility!! Would be great if you could point me in the right direction... if i do manage to get one maybe you could give me some training tips |

I can't see any reason why a boxer could not do agility as long as you remember to keep a sense of humour at all times, and be prepared for him to go to sleep in the middle of the test - or make his own mind up about where he should go They are extremely fast moving, but can not compete with the Borders.
I got my boxers from the Seefeld Kennels in Bridgewater, Somerset. If you google Seefeld boxers, you will be able to see loads. The one that I did beauty and obedience with was by Seefeld Picasso, who also did obedience as well as being the top show dog, so it's in the genes.
Good luck, you won't regret getting a boxer
