Evie - I guess you have wonderful weather in the Cayman Islands at this time of year!! We have mud, woolly coats and more mud - which is why it was very good of the Hickfords to invite us all at this time of year and nothing was 'off limits'.
However, I do feel it would be unfair to post winter photos of World class horses in their winter woolies, and I hope everyone will abide by this.
If you can wait for the next online mag. there will be a report of the visit with photos of all the people there (bet I'll now get requests not to show A.Liners in their winter woolies!) and professional photos of their superb horses ... so be patient please. |

yes it was very good of Jane and Malcolm to let us visit at this time of year - and for that it made all the better for me! I agree it wouldn't be fair perhaps to show the pics as the photos would NOT do them justice .. videos however...NO_ONE would be able to argue the beauty and quality of their fabulous horses - winter woolies or not!!!! I thought it was lovely to see them as they were, and to look at the brochure and see them in their finery too!! Thanks again for allowing us a winter visit!!! Dawn xxxx (and I still love number one mare... ) |

well that told me. I don't see what the weather here has to do with anything - I know perfectly well what the weather is like in the UK at this time of year having lived there for 30 years before I moved out here! I've also had horses in their winter woolies and covered in mud - it doesn't make me think they're any less beautiful!
Unfortunately I cannot view on the online magazine as I can only access the internet from my work computer and it only allows me access to certain sites - and it doesn't let me read the online magazine. :( I just asked to see pictures as I miss my Arab and love seeing photos of these beautiful horses even if they are a bit wooly, like I loved seeing the photos of Wizzy's horses from the AV Arabians open day the other week. |

Evie, don't take offence at this... I just took it to mean that maybe the owners had requested no photos were put on here? I don't know that though! It was really lovely to see the horses in their home surroundings and so relaxed, and yes they were such lovely horses that winter woolies made no difference other than making them cuddly!! but I know if I show someone I don't know pics of my mare, she looks lovely in her summer coat and like a welsh cob in her winter one - even though she's gorgeous either way to me so IF this was their request, we should respect it. Hope you have someone sending you regular pics of your horse to keep you up to date - I know i'd hate to be away from mine xxx

Evie,
we were given the most lovely catalogue.
Why not send Aja an email, and ask if they would send you one. Obviously you will need to reimburse the postage or send a padded sae, but I am sure they would oblidge if you do the all the prep.
This was suggested to me last evening, and I thought 'what a good idea'.

My lovely flowers are filling my conservatory with wonderful perfume.....the lillies are so beautiful. Thank you AL girls especially Pat.I thouroughly enjoyed myself on Saturday and just wished we could do it all over again this week....its so nice spending time with friends we haven`t seen for months and being treated to a show by the most beautiful horses....
I have e.mailed Lynn Boreham and I will send our collection money to her so she can add it to the other donations sent from family and friends (we collected 120.00). She was touched that we were thinking of them & Skye at this sad time. Before I send the cheque if there is anyone else who wishes to make a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital in memeory of Skye they can contact me and add it to our collection. I will list all contributors later.
