This is no good, I really must go to bed. Looks like baby is nearly up, not surprised mum is hungry, she's had a strenuous time. At least she looks to be accepting her new baby so far.

| baby was a colt...name suggestion is "Drunken Sailor"!!!! and everything is fine this morning. Mum and baby both ok..mum probably sore, but she should be ok. |

| The baby is feeding now, how will I ever get anything done again! Will have to ask the stud to turn the camera off for a couple of hours now and then so that I can get on with a few things ! |

No she doesn't look happy but I don't think it's that unusual. My friend's mare was exactly the same when she first foaled as a maiden, she couldn't believe that she had to share a space with this creature and they had to hold the mare whilst she fed the foal. For a couple of days they really thought she wouldn't accept the baby, but then she suddently became very protective and 'foal proud' and all was well.

| add in the fat that she was in labour for over a day..then baby came out as a breech, and had to be delivered by brute force....no wonder the poor lass is uncomfortable. |

Can completely understand that - there is just something niggling me. I expect she will feel more comfortable after another 24 hrs.
She is so good with the foal now - bless her.
Thank goodness I hve another few weeks before mine start ! |

They look settled enough now. The baby just got stuck walking underneath her tummy  , so sweet. He then collapsed in a heap by her feet .

Was so exciting watching baby take its first steps I was up for ages watching. Bless ickle fing took ages to find its feet and kept falling over. Keep checking back today to see how little chap is getting on, he looks adorable.

I've been watching all day on and off and really must go to bed as so tired after last night  ! I thought his name was a joke yesterday, mmmmm not very flattering and I was also so surprised to see him for sale before he is even 24hrs old  ! I clearly haven't got a very good head for business  .

Didn't see the little one born and totally understand why mum should be grumpy after all she has been through but I am finding watching it quite upsetting it just seems that every time I have a look to see what they are up to mum is either biting or kicking the poor little thing and I haven't seen him drinking from mum.

Michaela, I promise she has been letting the baby drink and she watches over him a lot and checks up on him when he's resting! (Can you tell I've been watching it a lot.)
