Just over a year ago I was unfortunate to lose my two endurance horses,Bonnie and Jim to Bottulism ,I lost them on the same day .We still have a chestnut arab mare who ,last year lost her foal,but shes in foal again now and due 1st June,and we still have our lovely little Prim section A.Last April I took a chance and bought Chesney a beautiful Spanish/Egyptian Arab almost 2 years old.I have trained him ,took him miles on the road ,and finally I have now ridden him a very little ,just enough to know my gamble will pay off ,He feels so good to me ,very responsive and obviously very young .He goes for a walk once a week and I 'ride' for about 10mins on quiet track.Still a long long way to go to get where I was before but I will have fun with Ches and companions doing it!!!!!

Hi Bonnie.
What a tragedy to loose two horses on the same day. That must have been a terrible shock fo you. How did they get the Bottulism?
Wish you all the luck in the world with your new boy. I'm sure he has helped you come to terms with the loss of your other two.

How awful for you to lose two at once. I have only heard of one other case of botulism and that was caused by haylage---is that what caused yours?
