This summer I intend to take Obi to a gallop and let him go. I know there is one at Crow Wood in Blackburn. Are there any other gallops in Lancs, pref nearer to Blackpool, where a few of us can go for a blast?

Knott end beach, you can let them go there, really flat and hardly ever wet as the tide stays well out most of the time. There is a racing stables near cartmell sands maybe they have a proper gallop. Hows about southport beach out of season, again brilliant and flat, stannes beach as well, there is allways horse boxes on there at weekends taking horses for a gallop. |

I live just across the bay from southport beach and within a stones throw of MILES of sand to gallop on, but i've never had the bottle to have a go! Prefer somewhere where horse has to STOP!!! |

I usually go to Lytham beach...no quicksand to worry about, and Crystal loves it! Only thing, can my friend bring her welsh d..she behaves like an arab, and her and Crinky tend to race each other. |

I fancy a proper gallop track rather than the beach as Obi not keen on sand (ha ha - pride of the desert!). The Tank would be my choice for a beach ride but the idea is to be able to really let Obi go for it. I have never been able to get to top speed as we always have to pull up when we run out of space. I want somewhere secure so if I hit the deck, he will be safe. Lami - we are all fine thanks. U still at Ruth's? Honeyb - I will go to Crow Wood one day and will give you a shout. You can have a fly around on Obi while I take it nice and steady on The Tank. |
