I do apologise for what must seem a very basic question but I'm confused!
I bought a mare described as Anglo Arab. She's got a registration with the AHS on the Part Bred Register and her pedigree is http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/silver+spirit5. She's 46.87% Arab according to her certificate.
Is she correctly described as Part Bred Arab, or is Anglo Arab correct?
Thanks for your help and again apologies for the stupid question.
ETA that should be silver spirit5 - sorry, I don't know how to make the URL work.
Just out of interest ..what does the breeding on the AHS cert say..that will probaly solve the question as the allbreeds looks like thoroughbred breeding only?? there are some really knowledgeable people on here i am sure they can tell you more of her background too..if she is on the partbred register well she should be a partbred! but if you can tell us whats on the AHS cert that will help x
Thank you all - My understanding is that her dam is TB (on GSB?) and that her sire is nearly all Arab (and at least 50% crabbet), but I can't find any information on Guist Checanda - his dam.
The link given breaks to a horse called "Silver" who is indeed all thoroughbred (because I can't make it work properly) the actual pedigree is under Silver Spirit5 - her sire's sire is Silver Scimitar, (Bright Shadow x Silver Grey). She's 46.87% Arab.
If anyone has any information on Guist Checanda I'd be pleased to hear it!
Yes you are quite correct in that an anglo is only of Arab/TB mixture, and is classed as part-bred if there is a mix of any other blood. However I have a mare (Ilgars Ultimate Fayze) that is Anglo 50/50 but she is in the Part-bred Register as her TB dam was never registered with the GSB by her owner at the time(very annoying)and this could be the same thing with Guist Checanda maybe. She is in foal to our Anglo Stallion Dubloon Blue but the offspring will still be classed as part-bred
