Sorry I can't find the thread where someone asked how to attach a rope to a rope halter without using a large clip. This is especially useful for sensitive horses and very young horses. The Parelli ropes have a heavy brass snap which IMO is not nessecary at all. You don't have to have the rope back spliced but it makes it smarter I think
I must admit, when I first purchased my NH rope halter and lead, I had already taught my girly to "head down" with a conventional head collar () using pressure and release.
The minute I put the NH one on and attached the clip, she put her head down with the weight of it. I was a bit surprised and also quite pleased with her sensitivity to it but since only using this she is used to it now....so probably have to need to remove the clip but if it fails I now know how to tie the rope to the rope halter.
