Hi Lyndilou, these things happen in life don't they, you just have to get over it and carry on. While i was on chemo i caught an infection which nearly saw me off and i spent some time in Christies, to see children with cancer is so so heartbreaking and puts things in perspective. At least i had 40 years to look back on. This will sound very strange but the whole experience has changed my life for the better, every day is special. I've met loads of nice people along the way, now all you ALiners aswell.
Erica, you have beautiful hair, you don't want mine it takes ages to wash since it's grown back so thick i have enough hair for four. Thank God i found that brilliant invention "the straighteners". |

I agree with you about the perspective thing, I lost my little Cousin to cancer , she was just 13she had so much to live for and fought so hard to live, I was a real mess at her funeral, I thought my heart would break. so many people winge and whine about their lot, yet if only we would stand back and look at what we have got and be so greatful for everyday, we would be better people I am so glad your ok now and envy your thick hair, I am losing mine take care darlin ps I wrote a poem after she died I think it helped me . POEM FOR SHARON. Gone to soon this one small life with time its self demanding,
gone to soon the shattered dream before our understanding,
leaves behind the soft green grass, the traffic streets, the looking glass,
leaves behind the time to run ,the time to play and just have fun, gone to soon no one forgiving, the little time of Sharons living

Yeah a really nice poem you have a brilliant attitude about it all lori. My view is that you have to tresure every day, and if you want to do something go and do it!! And if something goes wrong move on! I have had very good friends with the same horible thing called cancer and it was their positive attitude which helped them through.
And on the straighteners when we go to shows and stay over the girls at the stables go mad when they dont have their straighteners to do their hair!!! Don't understand myself!! |

Will, straighteners are just as important as toothpaste! MEN!!
Well, after seeing all your pics there is no way I am putting my ugly mug on this! However, we could print them off like mug-shots to take to the shows and say in our best 'Terminator' impression...'Have you seen this woman?' |

Hey! notice how smart and well dressed the people in Zoes picture are except for one old biddy wearing a pink leather jacket and white trousers and SHE was the one presenting the honours for the overall challenge cup at the end of the show ( whats this world coming to) talk about Mutton |

Lynda, your poem is beautiful.
Thank you for all your lovely comments.
What a brilliant thread, not only getting to know what we all look like but also an insight into what we are about, besides our love of our arabs |

This is me
I like putting a face to a name. Some of you look nothing like I imagined. Lynda you were very brave!!! I met you at Silverdales, your hair was quite short then,it looked really good. You don't look your age at all. Most of you are much younger than I imagined! |
