Does anyone remember them? they used to be in the UK a few years ago then moved horses and all back to Texas their home before the UK, many people will remember the young stallion Kordelas imported by them from Poland,, you should just see him now he is almost white and has matured to perfection with the lovliest head imaginable, he has the greatest temperament and is very much a "can do" stallion I really look forward to sharing my experience with you when I get home and write an article on the stud

They were lovely to watch.

Hi Lyndilou, I remember seeing Kordelas a few years ago at one of the lodge farm sales. He wasn't in the sale just happened to be there. I remember thinking how lovely he was then. I've seen him a couple of times since and he just seems to get better and better. Where is he living now? Jackie. x

I remember them - I nearly bought one of their horses too. They gave us a lovely couple of days (me, Himself, and my friends who came for moral support) looking around the stud. Their horses were gorgeous.
I was very tempted by T. Gdanska (spelling?!) but due to one thing and another it didn't happen.

I have a 9yo gelding by the late Toskhara stallion Algonkwin. He has become an extremely useful ridden horse who can win at dressage and compete at 160km level in endurance. I consider myself very lucky to have him Rachel |

Hi Lynda - Are you still in the US??
If you are would you mind taking a look at the Where are they thread - Mia Valentia and Santa Fe - Maybe Dick could help with if they are still owned by him or he knows their owners.
Thanks,
Alicia |

Hi again Alicia, Dick told me these were not his horses but one, Mia Valentia is owned by Liz and Walter of Valentine arabians in the UK, the other bred by Trevor Kerry was going to be called Santa Fa, but he decided to call it Monaco, both are by Kordelas and I have seen pictures of both, (very beautiful ) hope that helps unfortunatley I dont have the facilities to post pictures till I get home, bare with me |

Hi Lynda,
Thanks so much for that - I think Liz posts on here doesn't she - she may already have the pictures that Dick sent me through but didn't feel right to just throw them away. I'll add Monaco instead of Santa Fe to the 'Where are they' topic - thanks ever so much for that, and thank Dick for the information.

Hi Lynda
Sounds like you are having a great time in Texas. I am planning to go there in September and I can't wait!
I remember seeing Kordelas at the Merrist Wood show a few years ago - he was definitely my favourite that day. Would love to see a photo of him now. |

Hi Lynda and Alicia,
I hope I can help a bit here!
I spoke with Trevor Kerry and he said Monaco and Santa Fe(sp)?? are two different mares, they were both bred by Trevor, Monaco is out of a mare named Sazpora (sp)?? by Camargue too and was sold to someone in Ilkeston in Derbyshire and Santa fe is out of Red Nova by Kordelas and was sold to Yorkshire, they were both sold at the age of two,
Trevor said it is no problem to find out exactly where they are, if you want you can send the pictures to him, if you e-mail me I will give you his phone number and his address,
Kind regards
Linda x |

It was great to have a visit from Linda. We miss our friends in the Arabian communnity in the UK. We hope that if you get to the Dallas area of North Texas you will plan on visiting us.
I have a 9yo gelding by the late Toskhara stallion Algonkwin. He has become an extremely useful ridden horse who can win at dressage and compete at 160km level in endurance. I consider myself very lucky to have him Algonkwin (Bask X Alpaga by Celebes) was a wonderful stallion and produced wonderful riding horses. We are just training his last crop, they just turned three. We miss him. What is your geldings actual name??
I used Algonkwin twice on my mare and produced two lovely colts, Al Naseem & Al Rafiq.
Remember me to Christina & Dick I hope they are both well?
Hi Natalie. We are doing fine and hope you are also. We were always disappointed that you didn't get an Algonkwin filly, oh well that's the way of breeding.
they were both bred by Trevor, Monaco is out of a mare named Sazpora (sp)?? by Camargue too and was sold to someone in Ilkeston in Derbyshire and Santa fe is out of Red Nova by Kordelas and was sold to Yorkshire, they were both sold at the age of two,
Trevor must be smoking something strong. The registry shows MONACO is the *Kordelas daughter.
Would love to see a photo of him now.

Hi Dick
Great to see you posting on Arabian Lines. You can keep in touch with us in the UK.
Say hi to Christina and send her my love, as always.
I'm sad too that I didn't get an Algonkwin daughter despite all our best efforts. But my boys were happy and healthy and that's the main thing.
I lost my stallion too on the 29th December 06. So I can imagine how much you and Christina miss Al, he was very special.
Anyway bye for now and keep posting |

Hi Dick,
Thanks so much for that photo of Kordelas. He certainly is a lot whiter than when i saw him last at the Merrist Wood show. Its great to see him enjoying the western riding - I am really getting interested in it now and go riding at a place here every weekend although we don't have any lessons or anything - just riding out - but its better than nothing! Especially as I miss my mare at home so much.
I am hoping to get over to Texas in September so maybe I could come for a visit? |
