I am home god ,its good to be back you can only do so much shopping before it starts to get boring, I went first to the horses ,even before I went in the house, and as its such a nice day I put them all out in the fields what happy bunnies they all are as they have had to stay in the sand paddock for the duration of my stay in Dallas |

Hi Dick In answer to your question about my gelding - he was bred by Finn Guinness and is out of Sakuntala. His name is Selasphorus and he looks a lot like his dad!. We have been in touch before - you may remember, just after you lost Algonkwin. I can't believe how lucky I am to have him and really appreciate his wonderful lines through Algonkwin, Bask and Celebes etc as he has inherited looks as well as talent - hope I can do him justice BTW What a great picture - I keep going back to have another look !! Hey Evie if you do get over to Texas why not come and visit me. I'm probably about 4 or 5 hours drive from Dick's place but you would be more than welcome.

I remember him, he was a very nice colt/gelding. Finn and Natalie were some of the few outside breeders who used Algonkwin while we were in Britain. It was to bad because he was a superior stallion.
Sakuntala was one of Finn's best mares and he really wanted a filly out of her. He bred her to Algonkwin twice and got colts. Congratulations on owning such a well bred gelding.
Algonkwin produced a couple of really nice mares that are still in Britain. The best known is TA PISTACJA (Algonkwin X Pima by Baskhemo). She won several Championships in various shows. She was owned by Amjed Al Jafree the last I heard. I know she had produced several Champion fillies and had a colt by Gazal Al Shaqab but I never heard how he turned out.

The bay is TA PISTACJA (Algonkwin X Pima by Baskhemo). The chestnut is MISS KHADRON (Khadron X WA Silver Lace by The Real Mccoy). I wrote about her above.
Miss Khadron was the Novice Riden Champion at Malvern one year. She has a daughter TA MARIONETTE by Algonkwin who is an accomplished Endurance horse in the North of England or Scotland. |

ALGONKWIN (Bask X Alpaga by Celebes) 1979, bred by the Pattersons, Oregon, US. His dam ALPAGA was a full sister to ALGERIA the long time "Queen of Janow Podlaski". He was extremely Kuhailan in phenotype and genotype.

I was very lucky, my mare had the second foal to be born in the UK by Kordelas thanks to Christine & Dick. PAS Sandstorm will be 7 this summer and is owned by a lovely lady who does everything with him, I can't believe that the time has gone so quick!
While he was here I count myself as 'Charlies' no1 fan, he was the most beautiful horse I had seen for many years, his temperament was also second to none, a georgeous boy with the sweetest nature. Looking at Dick's photo he has matured into a real stunner!
I also owned and showed TA Pippin for a while, for personal reasons I had to sell some horses so I sold her back to Christine & Dick, I do wonder what she is up to these days?
No doubt about it there were/are some lovely horses from some very special bloodlines at Toskhara.
Christine and Dick, I do hope both of you are well. Christine, it was such a shame that we did not get to speak before you left for the US, it really would be nice to talk to you.
Best wishes
Mandy

Hi Lynda,
I thought I saw her name in the Malvern Catalogue 2006, perhaps I was wrong... It would be nice to know how she is.

Hi Dick Sorry I have not replied before but I have been away for a few days. I just wanted to say ' thank you ' for putting up the great photos of Algonkwin. My Seb certainly looks like his dad now as I am looking at the winter woollies pic Rachel |
