Hi,
Any information on Faery Rose is welcome - I know she was BNC in 1988, was bought by Gucci and at his dispersal sale by the Rodgers family? I don't know if she is still alive, how many foals she produced, what they have gone on to achieve?, etc.
One daughter, Artizana Pavlova, is here in Denmark (with me) now where she will stay as a breeding mare.
Thanks in advance
Anne

Hi Anne
I have a picture of Faery Rose in a book about champion arabs.
It shows Faery Rose as Senior Fenale Champion 1988 Bred and exhibited by Mrs Plaistow and it also shows small part of her pedigee.

Hi Christine,
Thanks for your answer - yes, I do have that book as well - by Deirdre Hyde "40 Years of Arab Horse Champions". It's a very nice black/white photo of Faery Rose.
I was hoping to find out more about her, because I own her daughter

A pal of mine bought a grey mare from the Gucci sale and she's one of that family, she is Faery Snow's full sister,SILVER FAERY. will check and come back, she last bred a filly by Rusleem. |

Thanks Lynn,
Wow - 9 foals - and four of them by El Saleem. They must have really liked that combination. Does anyone know results for some of them - showing, racing, jumping, eventing, etc?
Sue - thanks - am looking forward to hearing what you find out

She is 'Silver faery', but, now unsure of her exact breeding, anyone confirm same, she a Grey mare...as she is not on the allbreeds site...
El Saleem's dam was Crysilla (see posting)...and you might be interested to see horses pictures on Lodge Farm & Hejaz Posting, related to the off springs family by El Saleem. |

Hi Stuart,
I've uploaded a photo of Faery Rose to allbreedpedigree - its from the winter 1988 issue of the AHS News. I only have a scan of the photo, since I don't have the magazine, but it doesn't seem to say who the photographer is - just that the pic is taken at Ascot. Marafia's breeding is certainly very, very good - I would love to see a pic of her - do you have a website? oooh - found her on the female damline thread, page 7 (I had to start from page 31 of course) She's lovely!!!!

Back to let you know that Silver Faery is out of Faery Snow and by Silver Scenario, so she's full sister to Faery Rose. the owner has a Grey 3yo Filly out of Silver Faery and by Rusleem, that I think she's going to part with her soon....Silver Faery is in foal for 2007. |

Thy bidding is done, oh my lord the White Wizard / Gandalf / Marafia / Stuart
You are a man of many names, aren't you
Joking apart, Judals Marafia is really something - I bet she becomes prettier and prettier all the time!
Sue, I have added a, regrettably not very good, photo of Faery Snow to allbreeds - please, if anyone finds a better pic, feel free to change it. The foal is by Azahmes - he looks stunning!
Please you guys - keep the info on Faery Rose / Faery Snow progeny coming - it's really interesting to hear and see what they've produced and achieved.

When we first saw mara we fell in love. She is a grey and is slowly changing colour. When she is 100% white will be breath taking.Nicer than shadowfax, I am sure
May the force be with you

Nick,
Faery Rose, El Saleem, and Imad - all in one beautiful mare!! What wonderful breeding your Snow Dove has - do you have a website, Nick? I would love an Imad daughter - I think he is a great sire with precious bloodlines!
Stuart, LOL - are you sure you're not getting your epics mixed up? But hey - I appreciate your good wishes Thank you for your nice words about Pavlova - if you go to my flickr account (it is temporarily reduced, but Pavlova's photos are still there) you can see how much she has changed since she came to Denmark. Putting on a bit of weight really suits her - I wish the same could be said about the rest of us http://flickr.com/photos/23462550@N00/sets/72157594350087447/
I really hope we find a photo of Fiaba - would love to see her.

Sue, Snow Dove is listed among the get and grandget of Faery Rose in GeorgiaUk's post in the beginning of this topic. She is by Imad ex Faery Dancer (El Saleem x Faery Rose).
I too would love to hear about her offspring, Nick

Snow Dove as had three daughters, Her first was by Assad named Zeezeetop she became reserve BNC as a yearling, she is now four and due to foal in 6 weeks to Master Design GA,she was white as a two year old and really is a beautiful mare her head is incredible and her temprement HOT she as never taken a boring step Her second daughter is by Gai Radiant her name Catwalk a very special filly with a certain Star quality and very elegant, Her third daughter by Maujahl Fairy Tale is now with Top Hat Arabians a very tall elegant filly with amazing movement who was born to compete like her grandsire Imad who she bears a striking likeness to, Snow Dove is also in foal to Master Design GA the same day as her daughter something we are very exited about, We have not decided on who to rebreed her to if we do it at all this year, I wonder if anyone as any idea`s who would you use if you owned Snow ( we have a short list) Nick Mair and Abi Blackbridge Arabians |

Nick, It's hard to make any serious suggestions based on pedigree alone, but - in my (humble or not so humble) opinion, G Iridis would be a good option. It would reinforce the Gayza damline that is also Carmargue's damline and it would linebreed her to Ivory Wings - dam of Imad and of Inass. It would certainly also reinforce the Skowronek influence, through Nabor, Ferseyn, Rakhta, Indian Magic, etc. This mating should produce an offspring of outstanding temperament, grace, beauty, and substance. IMO If you were looking for more of an outcross, Psynergy might be an exciting prospect - or Final Shadow - I always liked his style. Another worthy contender is Toman - it will be very interesting to see his first foals this year. Oooh - and both Spearmint and WSA Charismma would be nice candidates too - both would reinforce the Skowronek lines. LOL - you see what you did?? Once I get going there's no stopping me
I really like the combination with Master Design GA - it revitalizes both the Polish, the El Shaklan, and the Skowronek lines in one go. Should be a stunner!!
Would really love to see photos of Snow dove and her offspring.
Anne
Ps: I added Snow Dove to allbreedpedigree. |

Anne we were thinking along the lines of another Straight Egyptian, Or we might give her a year off, and try Va Va Voom a young colt we bred ourselves next year,His sire is a Straight egyptian Oraelninio, and his dam Breiff Encounter, We must see first how she breeds this time her last filly Fairy Tale was very big born and we rested her for a year and the way the Market is at the moment over breeding is not an option for us,As we like to train and show our own Horses and the numbers can easily get out of hand, One mating we do fancy when he returns from Brazil is to cover Zeezeetop with Gai Radiant to give Catwalk a 3/4 Brother or sister, We never repeat a breeding always like to try different matings, As we feel we would always be comparing full siblings, Strange quirk but we enjoy breeding our way, Nick Mair and Abi Blackbridge Arabians |
