Stuart, I've just seen this.
I'm so sorry to hear about Mara, I was in a very similar position with Jack last week and know exactly how you feel.
Like you, we are now in a waiting game. All we can do it be there for them, which feels so impotent, but is so important to them, as they don't know we're 'waiting for news', they just think we should let them out to play - well, Jack does anyway!
Thinking of you both
Hugs x |

Marafia - glad to hear of your progress.I met you at the Royal Highland and I"m sure you will return to full health. Vets do tend to give the worst scenario. I have cared for three animals who"ve had similar fetlock/pastern injuries - they recovered well, minimal scaring and as sound as a bell. You may need to be patient but don"t give up! |

good news
Marafia is on the mend, swelling all down, wound dried up and back to her cheeky self. She is still being cared for at clyde vets. just to be on the safe side. Has had some little walks and doing really well . Thanks everyone for your kind words and wishes of support for Mara.
love Stuart and Gilly |

Marafia is back from the vets tonight after her 17 days in and is 100% sound. Walked fine and transported well. She will now be at our house for approx 7 days box rest .It is so nice to have her back and we are so pleased that she has been very fortunate.
I had said it was due to her terrible two's. The vet tells me you get terrible, threes, fours, fives, sixes etc etc.
hope not to terribledont want this again.
