Hi, why does it seem that every other Arabian on Earth has a lovely flat, fine mane and one of my mares has the most ridiculously thick, fluffy mane ive seen. What can i do to make it smoother and thinner. Ive tried brushing it everyday and it came to a point where no more would come out. I've washed it and conditioned it, but it just drys the same. Ive also put baby oil/conditionind spray on, but the only time it looks decent is when shes having a bath and its soaked wet through. ive heard that hot oiling is supposed to be good, can someone explain this or give any other suggestions. Its driving me mad!

No, Bally's mane is lovely, its one of my other mares, I just cant seen to flatten it down at all so that it looks presentable, I would have to use a tub of baby oil! |

When she is in - you could try a lycra hood - they work wonders with unruly manes - you can also get turnout ones but make sure she is safe and doesnt mind them. |
