It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Nadia Howard Price's & Frances Atkinson's beloved Crystal Magician (Crystal King x Sheer Magic).
This fantastic stallion became famous for his many in hand championships and who could ever forget him wining the British National Reserve Championship as a veteran, when shown by Frances?
His versatility was well known and he was a successful ridden champion and the sire of many, many champions both in hand and ridden, including several British National Champions.
Known as a "horseman's horse" Crystal won over several of the breed's detractors. He possessed a perfect temperament and was, without doubt, Nadia's pride and joy. She bred him and owned him throughout his 27 years and the gap he leaves in the yard will be impossible to fill.

Oh Paul - I am soo sorry to hear this very sad news. As Mike said he truly was one of the greats and his name appears in many many great pedigrees. As you said he was an extraordinary example of the breeds versatility and remarkable temperament.
He will be missed. RIP old friend and say Hi to Perissa, she would LOVE to meet you!

I am so very sorry to hear your sad news. I will never forget seeing this fantastic chap some years ago & I think it was probably his fault I have such a love for the Arabian Horse. I too hope his passing was peaceful, as befits a true Champion. My thought are with you all at this sad time. May the old boy rest in peace. |

I am absolutely gutted...he was one of my all time favourites having "known" him since he was an absolutely handful as a foal whilst his dam stood serenely at the AHS Show, Ascot (is it really 27 years ago???!!!!!); as a colt; as a ridden stallion; and as a veteran stallion...so glad I saw him one more time this year... how I wish now I'd had that promised ride on him...not to be...tonight I was planning to complete sorting out the photos we took at Cullinghurst recently...that may prove too difficult as I feel very emotional...RIP Crystal.

So very sorry to hear about this......we all are thinking of everyone at Cullinghurst. We have yet to see another stallion with the famous 'real' liver chestnut colour. Crystal was a one off.
All our love Sue and John Bundy. |

Nadia, Frances & Paul
Such sad news - I can only imagine how hard it is for you to walk into your yard and see his empty stable. I do hope it was a peaceful ending for him - it makes it a tiny bit easier to bear for you all.
My thoughts are with you

Very sad news - he was a lovely horse - a credit to the breed.
He does live on. We are very proud to own his 20 year old daughter Crystal Sheen and her son, daughter and grandchildren.

Terrible news, He was my favourite horse when I first came into Arabs and he left such an impression on me that I had to have one of his children. My first purebred was Crystal Destiny out of Royal Destiny by Crystal Magician. I remember hoping daily that he would go that incredible plum liver chestnut. Best Wishes to you all

To loose anyone or anything that you respect, admire and love is the most terrible thing.
Hope you can take heart and know that he returned those things, for all those years he shared with you, and that all of us here are with you at this dreadful time.
