I 've found new web site site where you can list your hors's pedigree or find out about other horses pedigrees. It's called All Breed Horse Pedigree Database. It even has pictures of horses in their pedigree.

I love that site. Many horses have been entered but it's surprising who's listed and who isn't. I have tried searching for some relatively well know stallions and drawn a blank. Yet when I went to enter the details for a New Forest Pony that was gifted to me, (she has done nothing and has never had a foal), I was surprised to find it had already been done. The more people that enter accurate data the better. The only draw back is that anyone can enter any thing and mistakes do occur (I have found a couple). However, these can be reported and details are easily amended or 'alternative' breeding entered. The fact that photographs can be entered is wonderful. My ponies each have a 'family album' thanks to this site. It's well worth a look. The web site address is: http://www.pedigreequery.com/allbreed/

Michelle do you know what the colour boxes are for on some names on the pedigrees?

When a horse appears more than once in a pedigree (on the screen) this is highlighted by the use of a colour. Horses only appearing once in the pedigree do not have a coloured square. It makes line breeding (or in breeding!) easier to see at a glance. (eg. Horse x appears twice in the pedigree and is marked by green squares and horse y appears twice as well but has purple squares). Does that make sense?

I haven't actually added any pictures myself, but I think I know roughly what you do.
Click on 'Add Horse' on the left hand side of the screen. Fill in the details of the horse on the on-line form. Then hit the Add/Edit Pedigree button. If the horse appears to already exist in the data base it will request that you don't add it, but select it instead from a list of horses given 'below'. Be sure to select the correct horse and that you are happy with the details given. If the horse doesn't exist, go ahead and add it. You will then be taken to the screen where you can add a photo. You do this under the 'Extra Optional Information' section. You have to add a URL address for the picture.
Hope this helps.

This is a gem of a site!!
It is on here that I managed to trace my mare's ancestry through the arab line back to the inimitable Skowronek!
It's fascinating.
I had a suggestion that if I wanted to breed Milly, then someone I know has a Spanish bred Arab stallion whose ancestry we traced aswell via his sire, Procyon...and he also is of Skowronek decent.
The big Irish Draught x TB I had, we found was a Great grandson of King of Diamonds who sired so many well known show jumpers and I've had great fun tracing the pedigrees of horses belonging to friends here too!
Go back as far as you can ~ it's incredible just how far this can be!
Ironically, the ID and the little mare, Milly are related 14 generations back via a TB mare named Pocahontas who was the dam of a number of very successful racehorse.
You can be kept amused for hours here sussing out family trees ~ it's well worth a look!
I've ended up with pages of photographs and information on my horses' ancestors.
Have fun!
