Ironic really, that so many are falling over themselves to breed to descendants of Sasaki

Hi Jaj
I took some (not very good) photos of the horses last week with a view to placing an advert. I took their rugs off, they have gone back in them the last two weeks as it is so cold, wet and windy with hail storms! As soon as I took the Spanish mares rug off she had a good roll in the mud. Should have put a headcollar on but didn't think! I am not sure how to attach a photo but will have a go at embarassing myself with a photo of a filthy horse!!!!
Sorry, can someone tell me how to add a photo, please.
Thanks

Afraid I don't know how to add photos either Barbara. Would be lovely to see your mare with or without mud! Awful that you are having to consider selling some of your horses, was losing your job completely unexpected?

Mike, was Sasaki the sire of Bambooki mentioned earlier in the thread? Can you tell me of any others I might have heard of around presently descended from him? Sorry, realise that is bonkers question cos how could you possibly know who I have in my head, but throw a few out anyway!
Thanks Paul and Tzarina for your leads, will look further into those horses/breeders mentioned. This question is proving more productive than I had anticipated! Jen

Linda kindly sent me some photos of Bambooki and told me a bit about him. Was he at Tudor before then or after? I've heard of Linda's DF Musette and DF Ballerina but don't know about any others. Doubtless there are more, but it only lists 3 on allbreedspedigree.

Ah ha! I spied a lovely Spanish horse at the SEAHG show this saturday. His name is ESP Estoro de F by Borneo and out of Estepa and owned by the aformentioned Gerald Watson of Send Court Stud. He won the younger pure bred stallion class (only 2 forward admittedly). Really nice looking chap and so laid back! Someone was asking earlier in the thread for Send Court details, only an address in the catalogue but can dig it out if still required. Certainly liked the look of him. I also met Adawy properly for the first time, what a gentleman he is! Love the Spanish temperament, perfect for riding. Perhaps that's why they don't seem as popular for in-hand as they are too quiet? Have to say that's a plus point in my book if I'm going to be clambering on its back!

Hi Jen,
It was me asking about Send Court as I bought a little mare from them many years ago (Yumana), I just wondered what happened to them as their web site is no longer available. I was very impressed with the handler for Estoro. I too love the Spanish temperament and currently have a mare with Spanish/Crabbet blood (see thread how much Spanish blood). She has the biggest dreamy Spanish eyes and a temperament to die for and very pretty to boot. |

Hello Maureen,
Ah she sounds lovely your girlie, do you have any piccies of her? I will go and look up her credentials on allbreeds in a mo. Were you at the show on Sat? I was also impressed with Estoro's handler, really enjoyed watching them together. Wish I had taken my camera along with me, wonder if anyone took any photos of him? Maybe someone will read this and come up trumps. Not sure how to find out any more about Send Court if no website or phone number. Funnily enough, I think I walked across the car park with Gerald Watson at that same show about 4 yrs ago, I should have badgered him for some more information!

Hi Jen I was also interested in Send Court's details earlier in this topic, was looking for an arab ridden mare & would have prefered some spanish (but hard to find !!!). I have now bought my arab mare but would still be interested in the address if you have it ? I may in distant future look at breeding a foal and that may be a way to get my spanish blood !!!!!!! I never made the show myself but I am hoping to go to Midlands & Robaston, so will look out for him. Becky |

Yes I was at the show and really enjoyed the day. There's a picture of Bliss in my gallery. Hopefully we will get to know who the photographer was then we can view pictures of Estoro (and others) on their web site. I did not recongnise Mr Watson as it was about 12 years ago when I bought my mare from him and only met him twice. |

If you manage to get in touch with Send Court Rabelrhicks, perhaps they could be persuaded to let us come and admire Estoro and Estepa (hoping she is still with them) amongst others. Don't think they would have to be overly concerned at bus loads of people arriving! (3 of us at the last count...)
Here is the address as per the catalogue, hope it's ok to give out here? Promise I don't know them (apart from that brief conversation about the weather in the carpark way back, presume that doesn't count!)

Well I never Becky, is your mum Doris Smith? I believe we spoke when I was looking for a horse a few years ago and she had a 15hh bay gelding for sale, Haszar was his name I think.
Would be interested to hear your reply from Send Court, I'm not looking for a foaly as yet either but always on the lookout for possible sires!

Oh how funny!
I didn't actually get as far as trying out Hazar as your mum said he'd only just been broken and me being a complete weed wanted a horse that had been around the block a bit. I do remember her being very helpful though and glad Hazar went on to do well. Which horses does she still have? I am in possession of the stud directory for 1999/2000 which lists Kyro, Hanoushka and Zuleika Helinka Odet in residence. Might have to drop around for cup of tea one day!
Feel like I can digress a bit on this thread as it was me that started it, hee hee!

Hi Jen,
Indian Swallow is Bliss's daughter I do still have her, she is now 11 months old and looking a lot different to the photo's in my gallery. She seems to change week to week so I have no idea what or who she is going to favour in what areas except that she is very liver chesnut with no sign of any grey.
Look forward to hearing any news on Send Court. Hopefully Mr Watson's horses will generate more interest the lovely Spanish Arabians. I too would be interested in a future Spanish sire.

I do apologise for erroneously referring to Indian Swallow as a colt...ooops! Will you be showing either of them this year?

Susan George told me at the Egyptian event that she may be having a straight Spanish El Perfecto son on lease next year, it isn't definite yet but she is hopeful. Typical now I have to sell some horses and as Straight Egyptians are my first love it is those I want to keep but as I just love El Perfecto I would definitely have used his son if I liked him. My Spanish mare has never had a straight Spanish foal, she was mated to Arabian Beauty but reabsorbed and as he had gone back to Spain I couldn't repeat the mating. I always hoped he would come back again but sadly he died in that terrible stable fire. A grest loss.

That would be great if Susan George had a Spanish stallion on lease, it would be well campaigned with her and perhaps raise the Spanish profile a bit more. My mare had a foal by Arabian Beauty, name of Khymanoa who has been brought out under saddle in the last couple of years. I knew that Arabian Beauty had died but didn't realise that it was under such terrible circumstances, how tragic.
