Yes very quiet. I am at a standstill at the moment with my six year old. We are having a school built by the local farmer. He has done a brilliant job so far just waiting for the surface and farmer has gone off to do'farmer things', won't be back for a month! Very frustrating. We haven't even got a field for schooling in now! So just plodding round the roads on Sundays. I have had him 3 years and have hardly done anything with him due to various illnesses and other issues. Good job I am keeping him so no rush. Even more annoying I got a Lavinia Mitchell saddle for Christmas and only used it about 5 times!

Was just thinking all quiet for a few days. My lad that came in with cut to outside of fetlock is healing very well as he does which is great as he is "Ari field accident" despite no wire and all dry stone walls. He is rising 13 and still plays with his pals, great for his quality of life and my lovely vets bank account. Oldie dog now nearly 15 despite vet diagnosed kidney failure, bronchitis, failing eyes he eats well and chasing anything small and furry that moves quick and barking at strangers that approach the yard so can see more than vet thinks. Who cares he's a very happy chap. Roll on Spring / summer what a terrible wet and windy winter. |

We took advantage of the sunshine last week to drive Sam for the first time since the New Year's Day parade - the ford was nearly up to his belly but it washed the mud out of his feathers a treat! |

I have another project on so running around trying to organise it and keep the work force going! Foal is growing well and we are on our 3rd rug! Friends Arab mare went off to her new home, I have taken the shoes off my new mare. Well she trod on a stone twice in a week so is a bit footy, last time I rode she trod on her hoof boot! Luckily was almost home so just hoped off. I was talking to a friend and my mare wanted to get home so was moving all over.
It's been lovley all this dry wether we are having, the fields are drying up nicely, thinking of rolling on Saterday if still dry.
Been looking for a stallion to cover my mare, can't find anything that I like that is a reasonable price, thinking of swoping my chestnut filly for a Colt! I know I must be mad. |

Changed yard together with other 3 liveries, didn't go far, about a km but better and safer access to the woods and nicer young yard owners, nicer place for the horses and cheaper, too.YO has a lovely young arab stallion that has been backed recently,an older arab gelding and two very young arabs,a colt and a filly, about 7 months old and a part bred mare just arrived that has to be backed. So I am surrounded!

I was just thinking it was a bit quiet here and am so pleased it has come to life. So much easier to find things than facebook. Now going to quiz page after a long break from the others that make entries there. It's muddy here and the girls are in their stable keeping warm. Roll on Spring. |

I've been hibernating but just starting to emerge now it is light at 6am (just) and still light at 6pm - whoop! Lovely to hear the birds singing again.
I crashed off my bike on the ice and dislocated my finger so feeling very cross with myself. |

Glad we are all still ok, apart from the finger injuries and lameness issues. I have been having saddle issues but my mare is in work and entered for first ride on 13th of march so looking forward to that , just keeping my fingers crossed that she dose not injur herself in the field like she did last season. Weather all to pot, set out today on a ride and within 10mins it was snowing still carried on and did some hill work as its sheltered on the steep banks , got home and within 20 mins snow had stopped and been dry all afternoon , typical. I have just started to back my 4yr old, shes TB x Welsh sec B and a pally standing at 14.2hh, i am doing a half hearted attempt as i know shes not for me and i am feeling guilty about this as had her from a weaned foal and i also own her dad. Started on the long lines yesterday and done her again today, need to book saddler to come out as none of mine seem to fit. |

We've been enjoying the nice weather out and about on the horses which is lots of fun. Was hoping to book some fun rides in the next few weeks but just got a date through for the op on my leg so I'll wait and see how it goes! |

Chips is nearly 7 - such a good boy, will hack anywhere alone or in company (even on a new, scary route, out solo for the first time he'll stride out, snaffle mouthed on a loose rein).
Rog had a touch of colic last weekend; but was fine before the Vet arrived so was spared the indignity of a rectal. I just left him in overnight for observation. Rog (rising 23) still hacks regularly - I let him decide if he wants a long or a short hack. Mind you, the other day I got comprehensively tanked up a local bridleway, silly old sod!

Oh Percy, hope you are soon again so your mum can stop worrying. My Dolly put herself on a raw diet today by scavenging part of a thankfully still fresh pheasant. How time flies from posting about my pup and now she's 15 months and coming along very well. She is a blond with fabulous thick curly coat and even well groomed its been a nightmare this winter in the mud.

I have just had a mini break by the sea, everything was wonderful apart from the dead body in the hotel, but it was nothing to do with me. If it had been an Agatha Christie Novel the suspect would have been the Lithuanian Waiter, nevertheless. it was a case of "A Barrister, a Psychologist, and ex police inspector and a licensing practitioner walked into a bar... " they actually shut the kitchen. I know the poor man would have someone missing him somewhere but all we could think of was the Fawlty Towers scetch... |

Thanks Firelight. Ari it dose not seem like 5 mins since we posted the pics of her, how time flies , you will have to get her one of the all in one suits you can get to keep her clean, getting her to wear it may be hard mind |

Thankyou so much for asking , Percy been back to vets again today, his third visit in a week poor lad. Every time he goes he has to give blood so he is starting to dislike going. Caren who works at the vets gave him some of her lunch which was cheese and biscuits, now normally he would take your hand off for this but no he wasn,t happy so refused poor lad. We have upped his tablets again to 10 a day and today his bloodwork is looking better but have posted his results on the Addisons page on FB as they are the experts so will keep me right. Back again on monday for more blood tests then i am hoping he can go a few months before they need to do more tests which will be better for him. |
