Im posting here as I know not every goes on facebook, plus its easier to refer back to than searching on facebook.

Statozfyre aka Mr T is now nearly 5yrs so id love to get him ridden away now if I can sort our saddle issues.

We had a Fhoenix treeless, lovely saddle but iv just sold it as it slipped forward just longreining. Soooo help with the next port of call please. Id love to just get it right :)

Iv been thinking of getting a saddle company saddle made to my specs rather than a second hand one but I dont want to spend the pennies if its still not going to be right...

I have been reading info that the problem with fitting Arabs is they need a hoop tree which most saddles dont have. Anyone know which do...

Thanks you in advance

If the saddle is slipping forward it's too narrow.

I have led a charmed life with saddles as neither of my Arabs have been difficult to fit or had any back issues so I have little experience of the options available. My advice at this stage is you may not have a problem In getting a saddle at a reasonable price that fits your boy 100% and is ok for you. He will change shape in the first year so save your money for the bespoke 100% right for you both until later.

My friend Jess Strong who has Arabs highly recommends Saddle Co saddles for Arabs - I have a problem Arab to fit myself, so will be looking into them

Having had numerous saddles for Arabs, I would say it depends on the horse in question as to which saddle is best - my advice would be to find a saddle fitter with a good reputation and a wide selection of second hand saddles - then you have a good choice, and if you experience problems then get them back to review

If you do a search on saddles on here, you will find a large number of threads to help you with your research as it can be a knotty problem
