Iv given it some time and still miss my little mia. Who was foot perfect in every way except been to small for me. She had me completely hooked on arabs in a week.
She was excessively tiny though, not height wise but in body. My first picture I have of her at the end of her 3rd year she looks more like a section A. But I knew that, iv id gone to buy her in a normal fashion I wouldnt have as she was to small for me. But she needed a home and I couldnt walk away so she came.
Is it realistic that id still like an arab, but something not so tiny? That id be happy about riding at 12 stone? (actually a little more but I can do that weight easily)

There are lots of big bodied Arabs out there, and at 12st you are of an average size unless your are very short! Keep looking around, or look at part bred's, tell sellers your size and then you wont be wasting your time with owners that think your not good enough for there whippet like Arabs (not that you want one of those!).
Years ago I almost brought a Arab only to be told I was to heavy! I was not amused as I was only, I think 11 stone at the time, and had just had a baby so had a bit to lose! |

Yes, that won't be a problem. Probably with a good dollop of Crabbet blood, 15hh ish, there should be plenty to choose from!

depending on your riding skills I have a Polish big bodied filly, 15.1, wanting to do something... she can go on long term ridden loan to right home, but is not for sale... otherwise I do know several people with bigger geldings for sale.

Lovely video, you will still have them skills and they will out on the right Arab. A 12st balanced rider is no problem for an Arab. Much better than 7st rider hanging on and bumping around lol. My 14.2 Crabbet lady did fine when (ashamed to say) I was much heavier than I am now. The boy I have now is 15.1 and very deep in the girth so taller riders than my 5ft 4 look fine. He does have the dollop of Crabbet in his breeding but is a mixture of "types" we chose him for conformation and of course he had to be an Arab. Good luck in your search |

Having an Arab is the best decision I ever made, there's nothing else like them! Go for it! |

I can't see why you'd not have an arab or any other horse as you are as confident, balanced and athletic rider. And some of these arabs are pretty darn big! Good luck...oh what fun to search for a new horse. I will not be doing that any time soon as my two mares are exhausting me! |
