OK so this is pedantic, but it was Loobylou, not Loopylou and wasn't it all to do with a summer's day (or at least that is what I believed as a very small child) - as with regards as to what went on inside the basket...

Edited to say that I've just looked it up and I've spelt her wrong...

A marionette who lived in a picnic basket, Andy was later joined by Teddy, a teddy bear, and Looby Loo, a rag doll, who would appear when Andy and Teddy weren't around. Looby Loo had her own special song "Here we go Looby Loo".[4] All three lived in the same picnic basket. Each episode ended with a variation on the song: "Time to go home, Time to go home, Andy is waving goodbye."[5]

You are all (except Mrs DJ) very naughty. Talk about staying on topic !!!! From weeds to threesomes !!!! And haemoroids. Is there even enough room on the naughty step for you all? At least, for once, it's not me on there

Oh yes, I have a significant number of naughty threads in my naughty bag. I'm just about always on the naughty step really, I like it there.

Do have to watch out for thou .... don't want to get locked in my room with no tea

We could talk about the delivery man who came the other day. God give me strength. I mean Jesus H Christ. Even Magnet has more brains... he's a sweet boy but it is difficult to have less brains than Magnet. The delivery man achieved it thou.

And then there is my new Phone experience. Two leaps, one from a traditional keyboard, to a touch screen, which i have resisted for so long due to mucky fingers. From a keyboard driven Blackberry to a Windows phone. Its not going well, so if there is anyone who is surprised not to hear from me, it's because it would be quicker to walk to your house and say hello, and that includes Fee, and that's a bl00dy long walk. I've been with Blackberry since the dawn of time, the very first Blackberry. It's like a divorce, from an old slipper.

Go on text me, sit back an enjoy that it will take me just forever to work out how to answer. Yes, even a simple SMS message is driving me .

I could go on for hours, quite easily ......

Lets give it a try, at least we will know not to be offended if we don't get a reply. And fun in the sun dealing with the complexities of an SMS message.

Sab2 - don't do it, just stay how you are, its not worth it, really, its not

so, the delivery guy. Knocks on the door and legs it down the drive before I even open the door, so I call him back. He says "I have a parcel and I cannot find where to deliver it". Now, there are only 3 dwellings in the road, so that has shortened the odds that its one of those he is looking for. One is a 4 storey house, another 2 story house, and a Bungalow.

"whats the address on your parcel", I say.
"The Bungalow", he says, "but I cannot find it, there are no names on the buildings".

So I point to each of the buildings and assist him observe that one of them is a single storey building and every chance that it is in fact 'the Bungalow', since it is indeed a bungalow.

"I don't follow you", he says.

"Just give me the parcel", I say.

Our farm is difficult to find for those who use satnav.... it takes them to a farm miles away.... so we tell people to use a map or give directions...
So... next weekend we are hosting a Trec westernt taining day & at end of next month hosting a Trec competition... The details sent out states in BIG letters... not to rely on sat nav...
Mmm... watch this space

, poor soul, he really shouldn't be out on his own, particularly in charge of other people's parcels...

Edited to add - I predict a third will end up somewhere else completely Judith!!!

As for windows phones, can anyone read their screen in sunlight or is it just me? I hardly ever answer mine in time, particularly when riding, by the time you've struggled to get the thing out of your pocket, got your gloves off, opened the case, swiped the screen whilst gripping the gloves, reins and whip in the other hand, under your armpits, knees etc. the answerphone has cut in!!!! Cue much muttering before reversing the process...

Yes, exactly. And I end up feeling bad because try as I might I just cannot keep the exasperated tone and tendency towards sarcasm from my voice.

Judith, sounds like a great day. I would ask to come, but, I have Sat Nav on my phone. See you in Budapest.

Edited to add. Callisto, my new phone advertise that you can use it even when wearing gloves lol

Anyone want to buy a Nokia Lumia - slight damage, small chip from a Machete. Well, smallish, sure it will glue back together. It's a new feature, lets call it a 'split screen model'

No wonder we never get any post with post staff like that, our bungalow confuses delivery drivers all the time we are number 1 and our house is called the Pightle we are the first house in the road and all our post and packages end up being delivered down the road or next door at the farm, the name is even on the gate I cant understand how they cant find us.

More worryingly he will be allowed to breed!

Yes and No. Pulling them up works the best, but they are quite twig like, so you need good gloves. I tried spot spraying with selective weedkiller, but the strength to kills them does yellow the grass a bit. They are easiest to pull just as the flowers appear, but don't wait till they progress because then you risk dropping seed when you pull.

The thing I did notice was that in the same paddock, separated by an electric fence, it was rampant one side and none existent the other. The clear side was regularly grazed in the spring, and the rampant side was left to grow, so i am going to try keeping it well grazed during their initial growth spurt and see if that helps.

They seem to grow and flower in waves thru the summer, so once you have it dealt with, there is a new growth to attack.

Sheep are not an option, they don't eat it.

ETA, this thread is quite funny, had a good giggle reading back :)
