Having seen an article in Nag and Dog this week about Hypocare, I have just been searching for some info on it. It does sound absolutely amazing stuff, I hope it's not just sales talk! If it does what it says on the tin then it will be flying off the shelves. Check it out on this site:

I saw it advertised - wasn't too badly priced. Like you say, it sounds like good stuff! Going to order some, so hoping I haven't been sucked in and that it does actually work!! |

So why isn' it used in hospitals to treat MRSA etc???????
Use warm salt water, or, if you need someting more, speak to your vet.

Just had a route around the net and apparently hypochlorous acid that hypocare contains is used for MRSA and Salmonella - never heard of the stuff but it sounds a good thing to have in the cupboard! |

Hypocare is absolutely fantastic - it cleared up my horse's ringworm and I'm currently using it for his mudfever. Highly recommend it! |

Wonder if it would work on LV or Photosensitivity, cleared my lads up now but would be useful to know if it works fro next summer incase he gets the dreaded thing back.
And best thing is it doesnt sting. My lad is a wuss when it comes to anything medical but the mares are ok, typical!!

Just bought a bottle, used it on Salad's infected scabby heels for the last couple of days and they already look like they're starting to heal. Prior to that had been treating them for a week with fuciderm and sudocrem with no real improvement. |

Ooh, I'll order some for Chips - he's got a very scabby heel which I've been holding at bay with Proflavine and Sudocrem but not really clearing it. Bless him, he says it stings in the scabby creases but lets me treat him loose in the 45 acres without a headcollar every day!

I know it's early in the morning but that was a bit surreal......."just bought some used it on Salads" followed by "I'll order some for Chips" thought I'd clicked on the wrong topic.......... more tea methinks.... |

Hypocare has worked on Ryu's heels which were very smelly and sore because of the mud. Now there is no smell they are not sore and he's got a much more confident stride. Have tried lots of stuff on his heels before including salt water, sea water, purple spray, tetramycin (can't spell that) antibiotics when they're really bad etc etc I'm trying it on Kazeme's photosensitivity along with Kerotex powder but I'm not sure it's very effective for that.

So, dilute bleach in a fancy bottle? "Synonyms of Sodium Hypochlorite include Chlorine Bleach, Bleach, Soda Bleach, Sodium Salt Solution, Hypochlorous Acid and Chlorox."
I bet "Milton" is cheaper .

Apparently it definitely doesn't sting - someone on the Endurance GB forum tried it on herself on a puncture wound - said it healed up quickly too. |

there cant be bleach in it its as safe to use as serline and you can SAFELY spray it into eyes (I have done this myself on me and a horse)... no sting, and no discomfort AT ALL. |

It doesn't sting because it's very dilute, same as the chlorine bleach used in swimming pools. Other dilute formulations of bleach can also be used for wound disinfection e.g. Milton and hydrogen peroxide |

swimming pools doesn't sting because they add acid to the clorine to keep the concentration high enough to kill bacteria... it might be different in small private pools but I have worked in a swimming centre in Denmark.. anyway I have used Vetricyn on my eye and Gineas eyes and its FAB |
