Today's update is about Paris scaring her EMW carers :):
Well you leave them all in the monrings and they are fine and dandy and come back in the afternoon and some one has slipped them razor blades so they can fulfil their dark dreams to self harm!! argh! All was fine this morning , lots of volunteers in too , Martin and Lesley and Pete, Trustee Sam and I. Everything got done and everything left spick and span ( we won't talk about the dratted fuly loaded wheelbarrow tipping over in Paris gateway, all over the medibox - but thank goodness we keep it in a stout polythene bag for rain protection, that came in mega handy today! ) so it was nice to get off to town and enjoy a bit of a good day and tail over from my birthday and use one of my gifts for a new hair do ( not EMW blog stuff this! ) When we got back to the yard this afternoon, Sam and I, and got to Paris with her tea, rug change and medibox, straw and hay net... argh!! argh!! ARGH!!!!! how I hate blood on white bits!! it looks like an ocean of it, enough to sail a small boat on!! it looked far far worse than it really is... at first sight I visions of deep puncture wounds, great big gashes, everything awful that could flash though my mind did! ... in actuality it looks like she'd been mooching in the hedgeline, caught her leg on a tough old bramble trailer and nicked the old proud flesh and scar on her damaged nearside back cannon injured in her previous life!!!! Once I'd cleaned it up and administered some colloidial silver and aloe it was easy to see the scratch along it..she'd only just done it too as it was still bleeding a bit but stopped once it was cleaned and treated...so panic is now off! She's a dippy old bint and likes scaring us!

Paris seems to keep improving. Today's update:
All are well, the day fine and dry and bright, almost like Spring but we all know what is coming, press depict it as 'The Beast from The East' though those predictions do vary from a new ice ice to a bit of an icy spell...whatever it is we're ready Paris enjoyed a big cuddle and brush and rough up of coat from volunteer Amy, who misses the old girl loads when she's away during the weekdays. Amy remarked that Paris' 'shark-fin' bum has gone!! and yes it has.. not altogether as that would be really something but she's padded with flesh and warm and eating and happy.

Another nice update, with a nice pic too. Paris is looking great!
It was thrilling to see Paris rugless on the first warmer and drier day we've had for ages. Just unrugged, to check her body condition, we we're so happy to find her plump and sleek and all her old lesions and rubs gone. She continues to eat well and the NAF Magic is suiting her down to the ground. No longer stressed and her dropping sare firm and well formed showing a well functioning gut...thrilling stuff for those of us her who think the world of her, care for her and love her to bits. she also has a swish new red full neck rug, completing her wardrobe - for now! - to cover whatever winter can chuck our way!

An update with a small reference to Paris, who seems to be doing very well:
Huge thanks must also go to everyone who has stepped right up to the mark over this wet dismal draining holiday time to allow me and my family time to enjoy ourselves as well as ensure the comfort and well being of our muddy resident horses. All are doing well despite the never ending onslaught of rain. More tonight and all day tomorrow and Saturday ahead. It must stop, it has to. We are going to have to dedicate some funding to yard mats at this rate as that waiting stone is never going to get put down this side of Easter for sure. Grateful thanks to everyone who has so kindly donated spare rugs to keep those precious backs dry and to the many folk who continue to give to keep us financially 'floating' through this lot. Thankfully we have averted a total of 5 extra mouths to feed out of 7 over the last few days... but 2 are still pending, we'll see what tomorrow brings on those little guys. Tomorrow we have fewer volunteers to hand and a thoroughly drenching day ahead..Christmas doesn't last long with animals to care for but it's worth all the slog and dirt when you see the likes of old Paris , happy and eating her head off and actually looking very well under her layers of warmth.
