Hi everyone taking my palli to a show on sunday and after advice :) hes rising 3 and being shown in hand and as a part bred arab so he will be plaited up... just after any cheeky show advice on how to make the most of him and show him off to his best ...
I'm sure someone will say if I'm wrong, but I was always told that palaminos shouldn't be platted for showing. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Palominos should be shown loose when shown in an affiliated Palomino class but should be plaited when shown in open youngstock or PBA classes .Years ago my filly won a Show hunter class & was reserve champion with an Arab plait & the judge asked why i hadn`t done "conventional plaits" I told her that her mane was about a foot long & I only had half an hour to plait her mane & tail before the class as we had ages to wait for the Palomino class As you are plaiting him put some quarter markers on him too & a bit of highlighter on his nose & around his eyes as a finishing touch !
Palli looks stunning! I am sure you will do really well whatever class you enter him as he is so handsome. Not much advice appart from looking good yourself and smiling![:)
Shows cancelled guys because of all the rain :( and to answer the question above the haynet is tied low down as the fence is electrified all around the top and the hay has to be in a net so the greedy mare hes in with doesnt stuff it within 20 minutes... its a small holed hay net so cant get foot stuck hes barefoot :)
