Thanks, they are really happy. Jasper has shown him his bottom a couple of times and Sam knows to give him space and let him take the lead. What a relief! When we turned them out they were rugless as it was hot and I knew they would charge about. We left them for about an hour while we watched and put the bandages etc away. When I went to catch them to put their turnouts on I couldn't get near Jasper (without head collar on) but Sam (with headcollar on just in case) wandered over and let me catch him..... There are HUGE black clouds coming so I have just had to whizz rugs on and off him trying to find one that fits (in a suddenly very windy field) he stood very sensibly in a head collar and rope (me at the end of it obviously)!. He was a superstar. He Loves food too I have discovered.
Lovely! Sam and Jasper already look as though they'll be good mates. Onwards & upwards!

I don't post here very often, but I just want to say what a wonderful heart you have, Annas. You can't give a horse anything better than the chance to just be a horse. I hope you have a wonderful time with your little lost soul, and look forward to seeing pics and updates of your progress together
Lovely ladies, in a massive dash but here are a few (he's wearing an assortment of Rupert's old rugs and Jaspers Rambo at night until his Amigo Bravo and liners arrive) ... The headcollar was only on for the first hour after his arrival...they said he was funny about having his head touched...its been off since then and he's been caught happily numerous times.
I remember seeing this boy as a foal when I took my old mare to be covered by Rosalyn's stallion Golden Idyll.he was a chunky boy as a foal. I saw him again at about 3 years old when she decided to sell him, I think he needed some one- to- one at the time as he was not that easy and I believe he was still a colt?. I didn't buy him as I had another youngster to concentrate on at the time. Then I saw him advertised and never did find out where he went. So glad he has landed in a lovely home and I hope he brings you lots of enjoyment.
Lovely photos - He looks as though he's settled right in - must realise what a lucky fellow he is.
It's quite spooky the photos especially the head shot at the start look uncannily like Senjai. I'll try and get a similar head shot of Senj to post so you can compare.
Re haltering - Senj always wants the halter to come on over the nose from behind with person by his neck and he gets quite upset and head shy if you come straight at him with a halter from the front. If your boy was taught the same way maybe if they came at him from in front with a halter he didn't like it and that's why they thought he was head shy.
Well done Annas, what a lovely horse, hope you hava lots of fun with him. Interesting about he headcollar thing Etoile. My gelding who is 21 this year, is exactly the same about having his headcollar put on. He gets very upset if you try to put it on him directly from in front as you describe.
Thank you for all of your lovely comments. He has been a real sweetie, a little wary of most things but willing to give everything a go. Unfortunately Jasper is vile to him when we feed and hay them, so we split them up. I am hoping he's just grouchy as he's out 24/7 and it's a bit grotty! Etoile I would love to see pictures. I have been in contact with Sasha and she seems pretty sure the site is Senraf (she has very kindly sent me some pics of Senraf too and their heads are very similar) now if I could just work out his dam. I'm hoping that he's Loucius as he is registered with the AHS, I may never know. The plan is I'll start doing some walks in hand etc when we get back from the States, can't wait. But for now he is a very pretty field ornament and we're just getting to know each other.
