Without any apology at all, I have decided to spoil myself and put spill to the gas oven and actually cook myself a meal! Admittedly I'm no Gordon Ramsay, I don't get the practice I once did! I had been saving, for a special occasion, a nice ch****n breast (sorry!) Its almost like swearing isn't it? Especially since I got the girls. but hey ho! So I have wrapped it in bacon, stuffed it with cheese, opened a bag of oven chips and a tin of peas. I also..... popped in a garlic bread stick! 'Stop it!' I hear you exclaim at my decadence! But the caravan site closes in less then week so I need to eat all the food I have been squireling away for special occasions! I had a ...cheesecake last night! My bum is almost the size of a small country but Hey! More to admire that's what I say! So come on what treats are you preparing tonight?

Well I have a wide ranging choice of left over festive fare - I just have to work out which needs to be eaten first - probably the salmon, then there's the cold beef, turkey, ham and tongue...selection of cheeses, mince pies and a whole Christmas pudding and probably enough cream to bathe in should I feel like it - a direct result of compulsive over shopping by my husband - we were 9 for Christmas but now I am alone in the house with all this food. Still got half the christmas cake I lovingly baked too...there's three left over crackers to pull too! |

We had duck for christmas, so we had a lovely soup today. But we are scraping the bottom of the frdge now so only sausages tonight. I feel quite pleased that we have wasted nothing. Pigs have had their sprout peelings and the dogs had the giblets from the bird. |

I was a guest at my sister's on Christmas day so I didn't buy anything festive , apart from crackers and a box of mince pies! Half a box of both left! Ohh and pate! Makes a change from jam on my toast. I bought various cakes but I gave them away as I wasn't eating them. I am hopeless! Did eat a whole tube of pringles though. Just finished my tea it was too much! looking forward to a slice of my sister's cake now, and as the season demands I'm going to have a glass of wine, I know! I will be giddy again, hic! opened this bottle last week and spilt the first glass when I sat on it! |

Well, Boxing Day, we use all the turkey/bacon/sprouts in a Jamie Oliver's puff pastry pie. It is absolutely gorgeous, with creme fraiche. Everybody wolfs it down....a great way to use leftovers. |

went shoping today, 3 days of Christmas dinner was more than enough, even the 5dogs had Christmas dinner for 3 days running we had so much, OH and Jemma are away visiting the inlaws so only myself to cater to, so I had musles to start in a white wine and cream sauce, then Paella, yum yum, but had to finish it with a sherry trifle, can never have to much sherry trifle, one more night of ME meals tomorrow, I have BBQ spare ribs or Chinease pancake rolls to choose from yum yum |

Have just polished off the last of a very naughty pudding from M&S called Millionaires pudding. Aptly named as there are probably a million calories per spoonful. Ah well, waste not want not

Ive just cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom so that when Tim gets home from work we would have lots of space to put all the goodies he was meant to get. He hasn't managed to get any so its beans on toast for me and fish fingers for the kids! Bah humbug to marks and spencer i was really looking forward to something lavish We didn't go mad on the Christmas shop so only have random things like houmous left and some veg. Sabs i love the dog in your sig pics she is the image of my old dog Millie |

Christmas 2011 now takes its place in Christmas's past. The last of the turkey with cranberry in yesterday's sandwich lunch! Last of the Christmas pud for breakfast! Last of the trifle with remaining strawberries and cream! All over, gone! but one thing remains ...... I'm now indulging in a different feast. Look forward, don't look back! With Christmas gone ...... spring's on its way ...... |
