I have decided to buy a poultice boot after battling with mud and bandages etc as my girl has had an abcess, just wondering what size to get, full would be far too big I imagine, and cob size travel boots are too big, but pony - too small?! Any advice welcomed, thanks

I bought a castle one in material (£6.25) that's like thick canvas with a waterproof sole in medium. Foot fits fine, but the leg is a bit long for my purposes so it slips down & the "foot" end up not under his foot. He wears in to go out in the yard while I'm doing stables (4 stitches on his heel that have to be kept clean & dry). I don't need it in the stable.

Nappies - far cheaper and last just as well.

Another vote for nappies, with a plastic bag on the outside and plenty of duct tape.

People on my yard have had success with the thick plastic from haylage cut to size and animalintex well secured with duct tape; you could use a small size nappy covered in the same way. My only worry with boots is that they can rub and cause damage.
