I Took deano to do his first dressage test yesterday. He was far better than I ever imagined or expected from him and he was a complete star. We were aiming to be there an hour before to give me time to get him settled and relaxed but were running a bit late and got there just 35mins before his test. I had no need to worry he was relaxed and completely chilled from the minute he came off the box. He queitly trotted around the warm up strutting his stuff and didn't even give a thought about all the other horses. He behaved very well during the test and managed to get a score of 64.35% he came 9th out of a big class of 38 so i am chuffed his next venture is a show next sat if all going well. here is a couple of pics oh took
YESSS!!!! What a lovely boy Deano is....out there proving there IS life after racing and that TBs DO excel at other disciplines. he looks FANTASTIC!!
I too have an ex racer, only 4. Nobody thought she would ever win....my gain, she is gorgeous and this is one of the things I hope to try with her too!
thanks very much and wyllow let us know how you get on with your mare they do make great riding horses and are so versitile and it is so rewarding as well after all the hard work you put in retraining them for a different career to see them happy and enjoying life.
